How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Lack of a smart TV with streaming services included, the TV was too small, and there was no minibar. It would also be good to have a mosquito net on the balcony door.
The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful and they have a good breakfast included.

1. There were too many bugs and tiny flies in the room and bathroom. I guess mosquito nets on the windows are needed there. 2. Extra fee is charged for using the pool
Small, simple but clean and comfy room. Nice balcony overlooking a pool and Lake Garda. Only cold breakfast, but with good choices. Very quiet and peaceful location. Super yummy Vienna restaurant with Italian cuisine just a couple of minutes' walk along the lakeshore. Nice beaches and beautiful promenade away from the road, free from cars. Good parking though.

The pool area was not up to usual standard. We have been to this hotel several times before and the pool was very well looked after but not on this occasion. Green algae and flies.

Room without balcony was very clean, but despite of that we felt sometimes musty odour. We missed some glasses and fridge in the room - at our first evening we got some plastic glasses from bar next to the hotel, because the reception was closed more than one hour earlier as they told us. Next days was everything okay.
Breakfast - nice and big variety of food🤩 Locality - between two cities, so it was a quiet place, great for relax Staff was very nice

Excellent small hotel in a quiet location, with a beautiful view of the lake. Clean, with friendly staff, and the pool is definitely an added bonus, in addition, cleaned every morning. And very friendly to dogs.

No fridge in the room, AC was on lowest setting and locked, sometimes even turned off by room service staff while not in the room

You can hear neighbors when they are in shower or wc.

The trains were hopeless and we couldn't arrive by 9pm. The manager kindly returned to the hotel to let us in, but an arrangement for delayed customers to pick up a key themselves would make things easier for everyone.

Nothing. Everything was excellent.
Very friendly staff. Beautiful and quiet location near the lake. The swimming pool was an excellent treat during the warmest hours. Air conditioning in the room. Great breakfast with lots of delicious fresh fruit.You can walk from the hotel along the border of the lake to Peschiera del Garda following a pedestrian path. The hotel exceeds definitely the 2 stars rating on the website !

for some people may be problem poor wi-fi, but for us it was not a problem. sounds from shower and toilet flushes in nearest rooms.
Perfect location...near Lago di garda. No city center noises.

The room is a bit old fashioned. If the hotel renovated the room to more modern then it would be a top hotel!
The location because it’s near the beach. Also the pool is very lovely! The breakfast was good.

There is no restaurant for dinner within walking distance of the hotel (which we were led to believe from the description). The hotel restaurant was only for the breakfast.
We stopped at Hotel Fornaci for an overnight stay between trips to Verona and Sirmione. The hotel is directly across the street from Lake Garda which was lovely for an afternoon/evening stroll along the lake. The Italian breakfast buffet was plentiful and very good. Having the pool was a huge plus after a full day in the heat!
