Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomParking was a bit awkward as the hotel doesn't have a car park- but this is common for hotels in city centres.
Lovely hotel, very clean, great location in the centre of the city, friendly staff.

IcelandThe biggest minus was the bed, not comfortable at all, worn out mattress, much too soft and especially worn out in the middle. I had a stiff neck the next morning and hip pain and could not really sleep. The guests from neighbor room came back from partying at 2AM and made a lot of noise, slamming doors 5 times and talking very loud (this behaviour is obviously not the hotels fault but the walls are definitely not soundproof).
I liked that they use Soley Organics refillable cosmetics and the bathroom design is very nice. The room is cozy and looks lovely, the views are also great. The location is perfect as well, the windows are very well insulated and as soundproof as possible. Easy and fast check in. There were enough towels and even washcloths. The room was very clean.

SwedenVery pleasant experience. The room is a bit small but clean and nice. The hotel is located in the best area that you could basically reach all the famous place on foot. There is parking position down there but be better to park your car somewhere else outside the city center.

United KingdomNot a bad thing to say really. I only had one problem with the sink in the shower room. The stopper got stuck but that's probably because they were really newly installed, that was quickly fixed. But everything else was fine.
The loaction of this hotel was perfect. Right on the street where all the bars and restaurants are, and not far of a walk to the harbour where I could go on the Boat Tours. Had a great view of the Hallgrimskirkta church tower as well. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe pillows were so thin and we had two single duvets rather than one double on our bed which personally I found strange. It also would have been nice to have a fridge in the room - there was a coffee machine and kettle but no milk or sugar and the only flavour tea was green tea.
The location was amazing and the main perk of staying here - right on the main street. Staff were friendly and upgraded our room on arrival which was lovely treat. They also advised us on the street parking which I had been worried about but was actually very easy. The room itself was clean and quiet with a great view.

GermanyMy only recommendation is putting a towel in front of the shower, as the water does not flow away fast enough.
Speaking from someone working in the industry, I can say that the hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff is friendly, rooms are well cleaned, extremely comfortable and well maintained. The location couldn't have been better. For anyone looking for a hotel in Reykjavik: This is an absolutely fantastic choice!

United Kingdomonly thing - the glass at the shower was half-sized so you have to be careful when you're taking a shower that the water will splash out making the floor really wet, but its not a big problem
the view was spectacular, could see the church from the window! everything was so clean and new, love the design of the hotel - dark and stylish. Location was perfect too, located right at the centre of Reykjavik (next to a supermarket too). around 5 mins walk to bus stop 9 for tours and airport transfer. There was a restaurant at the hotel but did not have the chance to eat in, but looked nice.
