Grocery stores quite a long distance away, though this was well informed in advance so we bought what we needed in Vik.

Comfortable apartment with good location close to beautiful sights. Coffee, tea and some spices were available for use, so no need to buy them for a short stay.

Exceeded our expectations. The apartment is spacious, very good quality fittings and design. Wonderful comfortable bed. All the amenities you could need. Small touches such as ample clothes hanging space (especially helpful in Iceland and other accomodation we have stayed in only provided a couple of small hooks for clothes), all simple pantry items such as oil, salt & pepper, tea and coffee provided. Very helpful and gracious hosts and an absolutely stunning location with glacier and mountain views. Quiet and off the main highway.

There is a 1 bedroom and 4 studios at the Potato Storage. The pictures show the 1 bedroom more than the studios. We traveled as 2 couples in 2 rooms and were able to get together, but it's not as spacious as expected.

This is a modern, small, guesthouse in a pretty remote area. We found a good restaurant at the Hotel Skaftatell and generally found the tiny town of Svinafell to be a nice place to stay. And, is there a better name for a place to spend a night??

The best place we stayed during our two weeks around Iceland. It's like having your own little flat here. Everything was perfect, Klaus was super nice and reactive when we asked anything. And his book is super cool!!! Thank you!

The potato storage has everything you might need. Especially the kitchen is very well equipped (the best one we stayed at so far). The flat is really thought-out and super clean. You have a great view and we even saw northern lights. It is located next to the ringroad and the location is suitable for daytrips in both directions. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

We had an amazing stay in the Potato Storage! The location is very convenient for glacier tours and to visit the diamond beach. The information pre-arrival regarding food and shopping was very useful as it is quite a remote location, but there are good restaurant options around. The owner was very friendly and showed us to our room. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights from just outside the accommodation too! Overall this was a brilliant little place and we would love to stay again.

The location 30 minutes west of the jokulsarlon iceberg lagoon where we did glacier walking and ice cave exploring was perfect. There are about 5 apts in the potato storage building. We were in apt 1. I believe it is the smallest and across from the owners house (we still had a window with a view) but it was perfect for 2 people who were out most of the day exploring. The walls are made of concrete so it was quiet even though it is 5 units together. Definitely a dark sky property. Loved the little kitchen. The apt was immaculate. The mattresses were comfortable. We enjoyed the in floor heating. I also loved the “how to use this apt book” -always appreciated! The host was super sweet. I can’t think of any negatives!

The property is lovely! Super clean, luxurious and the view is exceptional. The floor is heated! The hosts are lovely!! Definitely book, you’ll have a lovely stay! 🌞 the hosts are super nice too!

Can't think of a thing!

We were so happy to find this wonderful place in the Southeastern part of Iceland! The converted storage barn apartments are spotlessly clean, comfortable and well furnished. The location is beautiful and easily found just off the Ring Road. Driving to the National Park or to meeting locations for excursions was easy. We traveled to two days of glacier hiking and ice caving and afterward, it was great to come "home" to this sweet little apartment. Regina, our host, was gracious, accommodating and kind. It was clear that she wanted her guests to be comfortable.

I wish there was geothermal water as if two people shower the water is not super hot. But not a deal breaker. We also always enjoy having a TV for the cold evenings.

The owners were so kind and responsive. The beds were comfy and it was a quaint little room with many amenities.

Our stay in the Potato Storage was perfect. Regina is a terrific host, very kind and friendly. The place is amazing… You can see the nothern lights from the window (cabin 1). The cabin is ideal for two people, so confotable. Regina thinks in every detail, it was all clean and organized.

The location was perfect for our journey plus Regina sent us an email when the northern lights were visible! She made us feel so comfortable and happy to stay at their property. Plus the welcome book was a beautiful added benefit. This was our favorite stay of our month long vacation through Scandinavia because of the friendliness of the family, the beautiful location, and comfort we felt here. We loved The Potato Storage and can’t wait to come back here in the future! Thank you for everything.
