Like in most of Iceland, rooms do not have ventilation and someone in the shared room kept closing the window at night, so it got very hot.

High price for a bed in a six beds dormitory. Sinks in the common area a bit dirty, people are quite disreagarding. This is also because this is a big place, so a lot of mixed people... Also the kitchen was pretty dirty. The food from the bar was not great either.

If you carry valuables expensive stuff (for example camera gear) I wouldn't feel very safe, because all spaces are shared. That's to be expected of a hostel of course. They offered me some lockers, but didn't feel reassured. Didn't want to leave things in the car either. (No worries. It's a safe country. Chances of something happening are low.) Rooms are small, beds like coffins and it was a bit chilly. You get what you pay I guess (for Iceland standards). The room door didn't close properly all the way. Also it attracts lots of younger age people that make more noise. (That goes to positive if you're 20😛)

It's a first time for me in a hostel and I can say overall experience was very nice. It's very clean, has a lot of spaces outside the room to chill, bathrooms, showers and a big kitchen with a view to have lunch or breakfast. Nice decoration, well organised, easy access, check in and parking. The view outside is amazing! I do recommend it for a short stay on budget.

The most expensive hostel in Iceland but no hot water when you need it. I stayed there two non-consecutive nights but the only time there was hot water available was after 2am on the first night (I've checked it before at 10pm and was cold). In the morning it was fine again. So I believe if you are early enough you can also enjoy a warm shower.

The place looks really nice and quiet, since it's a bit out of Vik (also probably good to see the aurora). The bed was comfortable, the temperature in the room was perfect and the room very quiet even if near the common area. The kitchen is very well equipped.

Bedroom was too hot and stuffy. There was no place to keep things. The roof over the top bunk bed was way too low and caused some head hits. The bed curtain was impossible to set up right and sometimes it would open randomly.

It was clean, bed was quite comfortable. Parking was available.

The barn is a modern hostel, very clean with all the service tou need. There's also a nice bar One of the best hoatel I have ever seen!

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The Barn is really a nice place. The room is very nice and modern. You can see the sunset. The common area of the place has a nice bar and the kitchen area in good standard and practical with a view to the sea. Tea and coffee available in the room, which is really nice.

We got a Mountain View room and it's well worth it! The view is brilliant. The room is warm, you will not feel cold at all even during the winter - heater, heated floors, and even a small electric heater if needed inside. the room. Inside the main building, there is a bar and communal kitchen. The kitchen is well organised - easy to find everything. The bar is definitely a plus to enjoy drinks. We absolutely loved this place and would definitely recommend staying here.

The only thing I didn’t like is how expensive the food and coffee was. The pizza was just a frozen pizza that they made, so not worth the price. Coffee was just instant, so you might as well bring your own stuff and use the kitchen upstairs.

Wasn't particularly clean.

Though it was quite busy, there wasn't much noise. The kitchen was very big, though a lot of people were always using it. It was really nice that we could get coffee/tea/hot chocolate or some food downstairs, for a fair price.
