Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had fun and games trying to get a shower that wasn’t cold or scalding! But otherwise nothing not to love about this place.
Amazing, remote location with spectacular views. Modern, clean “kit house” with excellent kitchenette. And lovely Nespresso coffee machine :-)

North MacedoniaNothing to point out.
First of all the hosts Karl and Hanna were really helpful and responsive, the house was one of the most unique houses i have ever been, also the location was very unique and remote with a beautiful view towards the ocean, also its 13 min drive from the town Akureyri. I got engaged with my girl here, so this place will stay like one of the most special memories that i will have in my life. I highly recommend this houses on north for everyone who is traveling the ring road.

Hands down the best place we stayed in in all of Iceland (7 days). The tiny house was cozy, clean, and outfitted perfectly. Would 100% come back here. The beds were wonderful and the view was unforgettable.

United KingdomI didn't like the fact the window in the bathroom left really cold air in because it didn't quite shut tight.
The location, view and the amenities left for us was great.

United StatesThe bed is on the second level and I think the stairs might be tricky for folks with limited mobility.
The location is close enough to Akureyri that you can quickly travel in for a meal but far enough away from town to feel like a little wild. The cabins are small but comfortable and have this perfect combo of modern and natural design -- they fit perfectly into the landscape. The space stayed warm, the wifi was strong, and the beds were comfortable. The views are beautiful, and we saw the northern lights on our first night!!

CanadaThe views are stunning and I could imagine a wonderful spot to stargaze and if you're lucky catch the Northern lights. Unfortunately for us, it was raining and the clouds made it hard to spot any stars. Location was great - close to Akureyri, and just off the highway. Really beautiful spot.

CanadaWindows don't have screens so be careful in the summer with flies
Full privacy in your own cabin. Stove top, toaster, griddle, coffee maker with pots and pans. Small fridge, full shower and bathroom, we also had a fan in the bedroom and spectacular views. Short drive into the city. This has honestly been the best place we've stayed on our entire trip of the island

AustraliaThe price was high.
The key to this property is the self-contained, freestanding unit, over-looking the Fjord. ( Unit 2). There is no TV, but with those large windows looking out at the world who could want one. We were able to prepare meals with the small but good facilities, & had access to a laundry for the vital re-stock of clean clothes.

BulgariaThe blinds weren't good enough to make the place dark, which is evident during the summer months, but it was decent. The temperature during the night got quite hot even when it was 10 degrees outside. We couldn't open the windows as the area is very exposed and had high winds. If a window is open we heard loud whistling between the window and door (which has gaps in it's insulation). We asked the host for dish soap, and they didn't respond in the 2 days we were there. The bathroom was also tiny, but usable.
A lovely small house with great views to the ocean bay and multiple mountains. A bit far from Akureyri but this wasn't a problem from us as it was on the scenic road avoiding the toll tunnel (views are beautiful during the summer on this road). The house is easy to reach from the road (no long gravel roads as in other places we visited). The accommodation is comfortable and has pretty much what you need for a day or two stay.
