Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis apartment was amazing. It was the perfect size for my me, my partner and my little boy (two years old). It was modern and clean and felt like a home from home. The staff had put a great size crib in there as well as a high chair. There was also toys in the foyer which my little boy loved playing with. They really did consider everything a small family would need. The location was fantastic, it was a two minute walk to the main street where all the bars and restaurants were and a two minute walk the other way to beautiful ocean views. The bus stop was super close to the apartment so our choice to choose getting the Flybus was a great option. I cannot recommend this place enough and if we ever return to Iceland we will certainly be booking here again.

United KingdomBecause it was in the centre , parking was a pain and made the whole experience less enjoyable. Plenty of paid street parking around but was always impossible to find a space anywhere close , which somewhat negated the location as we usually had a very long walk to the car .Great place to stay if you haven't got a car.
Apartment was fantastic, spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean . Right in the centre and just a short walk to shops, restaurants etc.

United StatesOne of the bathrooms had a stronger scent but that could be the plumbing that we aren’t used to here.
The check-in process was a breeze. We had enough space for our little family of 3. I loved the coffee maker and small amenities like coffee, milk, and juice available in the room.

United StatesUsing the phone as a key card was hit or miss. Sometimes I would have to close out of the app and reopen it, or holding my phone over the sensor had to be tried a couple times using a couple different parts of my phone (later narrowed down to the upper part of my device). There was a bathroom rack that seemed to be set up quite high above the toilet. Perhaps most importantly, the breakfast basket had a card saying that anything left in the basket would be taken back, so if we wanted to keep everything in the basket, we took the items out of it and put them on the refrigerator shelves around it.
Stayed two nights with three relatives. Great apartment located in downtown Reykjavik one block off of the main busy tourist street. It should be noted that the property has more than one building that these apartments are located in. On the day of check-in, I was sent a code that I then put into an app that I was told to download, Flexipass, along with the unit and the actual address of the building we were staying in. Once the code was put in, my phone was the key card for getting in and out of the building and room. There's no parking included, but there is parking nearby. We parked in the Vitatorg municipal paid parking lot that's open from 7am-midnight which was across the street from our building. There are some P1, P2, and P3 zones around if street-level parking is desired or if you want to try for free overnight parking once the meter hours are done for the day. The Vitatorg municipal lot seemed affordable as I parked for approximately 16 hours once and paid USD $17. We opted for the breakfast, which is quite nice because it was a mix of sandwich bread, Icelandic cheese, a deli-sliced meat, yogurt or skyr, one kind of fruit, one kind of vegetable, four hard-boiled eggs, and a freshly baked loaf of sliced sourdough that was delivered by 8am each day from a local bakery nearby. A carton of milk and a carton of juice were provided, and was replaced if they were empty. There is no hot option, as the breakfast comes in a basket that is restocked in the afternoon and kept in the refrigerator. Bathroom uses L'Occitane products, which is a nice touch.

United StatesStreet parking not always available in front of house. You may have to park down the street a bit. Bathroom sink is tiny and the bathroom is in need of some shelves.
We stayed at the Artisan house in a wheelchair accessible room. Bathroom is large and very nice. Apartment is in the basement with a walk out patio. Breakfast basket is awesome. Staff is extremely friendly, outgoing and overachieving. Location is excellent. Quiet area. Easy to walk to restaurants, groceries etc. Everything worked well, was clean and well equipped.
