Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyGreat hotel, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast and dinner, room was beautiful with nice view of the countryside and small church next door. Highly recommend this hotel, it was my favorite one of the 10 different places we stayed at during our trip through Iceland!

United StatesOur room was small and facing other buildings in the back of the hotel. Not pleasant. Rooms would be a lot nicer if they face the lake on the front side of the hotel. There wasn't enough space in the room for our 2 carry-on luggages and backpacks. There're large pot holes in the driveway into the hotel parking lot.
Free on-site parking. Friendly reception. The receptionist helped us make reservations to the Myvatn Nature Bath at a discount. Better English TV channels selections but still limited. Good size bathroom.

SlovakiaRoom was very small, we could not really fit in with our luggage but I suppose it was our fault as we have chosen the cheapest room. I think it was still a good deal for the money spent. There was no fridge in the room or kettle. Only coffee machine where you could also have hot water.
The location of the hotel was very nice. The hot-tubs outside were free to use and it was superb experience. They gave us bathrobes which was very convenient. Hotel was clean and nice. Staff was very kind to explain everything what we needed to know. They offered us wake up call for aurora.

United StatesHotel seems to be brand new. Very modern and comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was more expensive than other fancier meals we had had on this trip, and the lamb was not tender. Breakfast was very good though! Would definitely recommend the hotel!

SingaporeThe bedroom was smaller than we expected, we got a bathroom that was clogged up. Water flow was super slow and ended up our whole bathroom was slightly flooded after bath.
The staffs were beyond amazing! We were caught in a snow storm prior to our arrival and thank goodness we managed to reach the hotel and the staffs were so helpful. We had our delicious dinner in the hotel and their breakfast selection was good as well. Bed was comfortable. The hotel offers Aurora wake up call too for those who needed it.

United KingdomThe prices for food and drinks were a bit high, but there is an amazing pizzeria just about 7min ride from the hotel.
Only stayed for 1 night but definitely recommend. Very calm and peaceful place. Clean and tidy room, not too small. Really enjoyed using the hot tub outside.

NetherlandsFood and beverage prices are very high, as is typical across Iceland. However, with limited options in the area, you are often relying on the hotel for dining and bar.
It is a nice hotel, great beds and delicious breakfast. Very close to the geothermal baths.

We had to change our original plans due to a storm that block us and were then force to take a suite. The room was really nice with an amazing light and view from the bed. We had great breakfast in the morning and very good diner as well. The hotel is well located to stay few days and enjoy the surroundings.

SwitzerlandThey do have "jet toilets", which is a bit weird at first. The hotel itself is very clean and nice. The hot tub at the back is cozy for a hot bath after a day out in the snow. The restaurant is absolutely delicious, but a bit pricy. Near the hotel is the myvatn bath which is also recommended.

FranceThe hot tubs are very nice and not smelly which is good. Unfortunately there is no kitchen area but the restaurant is amazing, a bit pricy like everywhere in Iceland but at the end you get what you paid for (I mean excellent food) so that's absolutely fine. The accepted to cancel our second night as a storm was on its way and we had to change our plan. Very class.

SingaporeThe room was slightly smaller than expected. But other than that, the overall experience was pretty good.
I loved the cosy ambience of the room, the delicious breakfast spread with lots of variety, and the hotel's scenic and serene surroundings. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The presence of two hot tubs nestled between the buildings was convenient and relaxing.
