Room was on the tight side, not much room for two people to move around.

Very friendly staff. Good location for start of our visit, easy to find. Breakfast was very good.

Not fresh food for breakfast, especially veggies. Water in the bathroom with very strong sulfur flavor, even though they make you aware of that fact, construction place next to the hotel

Picturesque design with slightly outdated furniture, clean rooms, good Viking restaurant just around the corner with live music

Wish the rooms were larger and beds larger and more comfy.

Absolutely loved all the decorations and authentic to Icelandic / Viking culture. The restaurant connected to the hotel is a definite must! Absolutely amazing food and service! The room was smaller than we expected but we still had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay.

    wifi wasn't good

We got an upgrade of our room because there was a mistake made at the front desk. so we got a room for 3 or 4 instead of a double. nice decoration, carpark near. didn't have breakfast bc we got an early flight back, they did offer us something small for the morning

The cottages are a little lacking of ideas inside. No decoration no space to put luggage every single movement from the ones sleeping upstairs made so mich noise that it was difficult to find a good night’s sleep.

Nice idea, nice decoration, nice breakfast.

I specified the best rooms with views to the front and harbour . Unfortunately on my arrival my wife and I were pit in a rear facing room looking directly at the cliff the room was certainly not what I had specified. I complained and was re-allocated a room as per my original booking but was told this was only for 1 night not the 2 i had booked. I had not intention of giving up my room and in the end I didn’t have to. This spoilt what was meant to be a lovely break with my wife and friends. I will stay again but i will monitor my room allocation carefully and complain again if I feel I do not get what i specified and paid for. The receptionist who sorted it was very helpful and I accept it was not her fault the duty manager also was great and did sort the problem.

I have stayed many times and I like the themed nature of the hotel, also the location and the easy parking. The town has good restaurants close by and the harbour adds a nice feel to the town

The room was tiny (room 10) but not unpleasant for a 3 night stay. The bathroom was okay but didn’t enjoy the fact that the shower was so tiny that you had to touch the curtain 🤢. The shelf under the mirror needed screwing to the wall again as it was slanted so things slid off which wasn’t too useful. Manageable for 3 days but any longer and I think a bit more space would have been needed.

The hotels was lovely overall and had such a cool Viking theme throughout. There was a lift and 2 stairwell options. Which was ideal for getting to the sauna without walking through reception. Our room was ‘cosy’ which I hadn’t necessarily anticipated but for 3 days it was fine and we were out most of the time anyway. If we had a longer stay I may have asked for a slightly bigger room as our bed did touch 3 walls.. but it was still clean and comfy! The bathroom was a bit naff but everything worked, the shower had great pressure and the sulphur smell from the hot water soon fades and doesn’t stay in hair or clothes. The breakfast was lovely too, no hot food like fried eggs, bacon or sausages but there was plenty of croissants, porridge, waffles, cold meats, yoghurt and tea and coffee and juice and more. The Viking theme was great in the dining area and you can sit on barrels! The staff were all really friendly and we used the hot tub and sauna. The hot tub needed a good clean so that was a brief dip but the sauna was sooo nice and no extra charge (dressing gowns are a little extra). The Viking restaurant opposite was fab too, staff were lovely and the food was excellent! So convenient being literally yards away! The location of the hotel is great too, Hafnarfjörður is a really nice village and a short bus trip to Reykjavik and about an hours bus ride to the Keflavík airport. Than bus stop is just a 2 min walk, if that. There is a Subway (sandwich shop) and a few restaurants too which was handy. I would stay here again but I would pay for a better and bigger room. Wonderful hotel overall!

The rooms are really small, 2 suitcases don't fit in the room, the walls are really thin. We heard our room neighbors having fun and snoring afterwards 😅

The room was rather small, I had to climb over my partner or crawl up the bed to get to my side of the bed. The smell of sulfur was a bit off putting from the water in the bathroom - however my face and skin did feel very smooth!

The look of everything was incredible, the decorations were lovely. Staff were very friendly and wonderful.

The room was super tiny,we had a double room with two beds and we could hardly fit with our bags and luggage. The bathroom was even more tiny, with absolutely no space.the sink was extremely small and they provided us with only one towel per person. No free shower gel and shampoo. A great lack of sockets,we had to unplug the TV in order to charge one mobile phone in turns.

The decoration of the hotel and the whole Viking idea is exceptional.it won’t disappoint you! The breakfast was perfect,it had everything you can ask for. The location is very convenient, just a few kilometres away from Reykjavik. Free parking, free sauna and hot tub. The staff was really helpful, polite and friendly.
