Everything was great, but I would like to suggest a few things like bigger pillow and to put two pillows, not just one. I wasn't satisfied with the room cleanning because they did not take the garbage bin and did not clean the bathroom tilles floor. It would be nice to have samo table with chairs outside. But everything was excellent!

We really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is beautiful, as is the suurounding. The superior double room is quite cozy and has enough space. Do not know about smaller rooms.

Perfect experience! The cute traditional-yet newly renovated and very comfortable hotel is located in the beautiful old port. People working there were super nice and provided us with great recommendations. Nice breakfast :)

Location a little out of the way, but we knew that ahead of time.

Cozy hotel, with incredible helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and a cute lobby. Able to get free coffee/tea at any time. Located right next door to a couple of restaurants, one of which has the best fish and chips (spicy Dorito-encrusted!).

Breakfast is lovely with eggs, smoked salmon, cheese, bread and croissant, fruit, granola and a smoothie. The coffee and tea is great as well. The setting in the living area where breakfast is served is cozy and the ambiance is wonderful.

The pillows were too soft for our liking, but that is of course personal.

Lovely small hotel in a beautiful location. You can park next to the hotel for free, the breakfast is good and the shower is one of the best we have had here with good pressure.

Our room was a little bit small as it was situated in the eaves of the building and the bathroom door, being made of smoked glass, didn't provide quite as much privacy as I'd have liked

A very welcoming experience in a hotel that feels far more personal and in ways more like a guest house. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, happy for us to bring fish and chips from the harbour front (Hafnarvagninn - recommended) to eat in the cozy reception where many guests were hanging out with a drink. We opted for breakfast (which wasn't included) and this was really well presented, not as a buffet but as an individual full table spread.

Can't say enough good things about this boutique hotel. It is worth a night in your iceland itinerary. Beautiful decor, clean as could be, and the staff are exceptional. We were checked in by Christopher who quickly made us coffee and tea and engaged in lovely conversation. So personable and helpful! Breakfast was a delicious spread, and by far the best of all the hotels we stayed at.

100 on a scale of 10! Tiny but probably the nicest place we stayed in on our route around Iceland. Super cozy rooms (tiny, but very efficiently designed), super comfy beds and amazing breakfast prepared for every guest (with all the vegan, lactose free and gluten free options. The friendliest possible staff and all that right in the pictoresque harbour. Our favorite place and if returning to Iceland that will be our place to return too.

The hotel was very quaint and really nicely done. The communal area was great for relaxing and having a drink, and was also where they served breakfast which was lovely. The staff were really nice and the location of the hotel was perfect! Can’t fault it.

The day we were there, they had no hot water. Front dest said let it run for 15 minutes. We ran it for 20 to no avail. Man in next room said he didn't have any hot water either.

Very clean and easy to find.

We loved the atmosphere, it was cozy but chic. The smallest details like the handmade cups and organic icelandic soaps made it feel luxurious but homey. The staff were absolutely amazing, they went out of their way to make our stay so special and memorable. Krzysztof the night guard was super helpful and nice as well as the woman (sadly didn’t get her name) who served breakfast and was a great host during the day. It was so cozy and nice that we loved hanging out in the bar area with a cup of tea and playing scrabble.

Hotel Egilsen is somewhere between a boutique hotel and a high end guesthouse. The renovation of this authentic building has been executed with great attention to detail and great taste. Some may consider the rooms small, that is more a reflection of the authenticity. It was warm, cozy and very comfortable for our January trip. Our host C. was exceptional. He made us very welcome. Note there is no dinner service, but there are restaurants nearby.
