Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe owner is incredibly nice, the rooms are super confortable and clean. If you want to eat lamb, she selects the lambs herself and knows how they are raised and killed. The fish is caught by her son. Very nice place and people!

AustriaAwesome! Best dinner in Iceland so far. We had to leave early in the morning, so Gudrun prepared a take away breakfast box for us. It was absolutely amazing. Huts and interior are extremely stylish and comfortable. Thanks for everything!

United StatesThis was another place that I thought I booked twin beds but when I called ahead I was told that was not an option. We ended up sharing the same bed which we fine. Otherwise the room and bathroom was small but beautiful and perfect for us. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.
This place is remote and amazing! The rooms are beautifully styled and very comfortable. We had a wooden deck with stunning view off the back. The food was extraordinary! I had fish and it was one of the best meals I had in Iceland. The owner is also the chef and she's full of amazing info and stories. Breakfast was also probably one of the best during our 10 day Ring Road adventure. The homemade waffles and lamb sausage were so good. We saw the Northern Lights here which was an added bonus!

United Statesif you plan on seeing all the sights on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula from this cabin, be prepared for driving an hour on unpaved rough dirt roads to get there.
We loved the single cabin. Had a little stove and dishes and pots, we made pasta one night. If your coming off the ring rd, you must stay here. Great restaurant, small but beautiful, great food. Breakfast wasn't free, but well worth the money.

United KingdomWe stayed in Deluxe Double Room - which is a cabin located about 100m down from the main reception area. It was very cosy and warm and a lovely space with a balcony. The evening meals were delicious and the owner, who was very welcoming, clearly takes pleasure and pride in preparing each meal. Best to order in advance as she runs everything! It felt like a very personal experience staying and we would definitely return.

Czech RepublicFirst of all, we would love to thank the owner for all of her kindness and effort that she puts into the accomodation. She was super nice, understanding (we had a problem with our car and she was willing to wait for us after the check in hours) and yet she offered plenty of tips for attractions and sights in the area. The location wasn't hard to find, it was private and secluded, which made it a perfect spot to hunt aurora and after two weeks we were finally lucky, so this place will always stay in our hearts. The room was beautifully done, equipped with modern stuff, mini fridge and a very comfy bed. The bathroom was also nice. There is a small terrace outside the room. Everything was clean and we do recommend the breakfast, it was delicious. Definitely one of the best places we have visited in Iceland so far (and we went all around the island), recommended! Certainly, here's the updated review that includes a mention of the amazing dinner and breakfast: Title: "A Tranquil Paradise in Iceland with Amazing Dining!" Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dalahyttur in Iceland, and it was an absolute dream! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an amazing host who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The highlight of this stay has to be the breathtaking views that surrounded the cabins. Waking up to the serene beauty of the Icelandic landscape every morning was a true gift. It's a place where you can truly disconnect from the world and find peace in nature's embrace. Speaking of the cabins, they were incredibly comfortable. Cozy and well-appointed, they provided a warm sanctuary after a day of exploring. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the cabin's design. What struck me the most was the absolute tranquility of this place. It's so quiet that you can hear the whispers of the wind and the songs of the birds. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, this is it! And let's not forget the dining experience – both dinner and breakfast were nothing short of amazing. The flavors, the presentation, and the warmth of the dining area added an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay. In summary, Dalahyttur in Iceland is a hidden gem. With its gracious host, stunning vistas, comfortable cabins, and unparalleled tranquility, it's the perfect place for a getaway. I can't wait to return and experience this piece of heaven on earth once again!

We had an amazing lodge, fab view over the mountains, it felt very secluded and private. The cabin has everything you need, and although it has a kitchenette I would recommend the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, as both were very tasty.
