Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI ran into a problem which was resolved but was unsettling. I booked months in advance for two nights, paid, etc. On the second night, when I returned from an evening out, my card key didn't work. I went to the Front Desk and was told that I was "not in the system." I was upset. All my belongings were of course in the room and I wondered if they had checked me out and removed them. The desk person asked for my i.d., left for about 10 minutes. I waited, exhausted from jet lag; all I wanted to do was to go to bed. When she came back, she showed me a photo on her phone of my room and belongings, and asked if these were mine: they were. She programmed the card key so that it would now open the door. Although pleasant enough interaction, the incident shook me up.

CanadaThe window in the hotel room was small and therefore the room felt a bit dark. All the windows are the same size in the hotel rooms.
As it was just an overnight layover for next day fight it was in the perfect location. The staff were lovely at the front desk. There is no airport shuttle but the hotel does have an arrangement with a taxi company to return to the airport at a better rate than coming to the hotel from the airport. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet, too. The lobby area is nicely set up with a restaurant and bar area.

FranceThe beds are comfortable and the breakfast has a big variety of choices - all of which you could expect from Marriott Hotels. The hotel is a five-minute drive from the airport so perfect for late arrivals. We would gladly come back here if ever we make ourselves back to Iceland.

MexicoHotel is meet expectations is a good airport hotel. However, note their shuttle service is virtually non existent. You need to take a taxi from the Airport to hotel (12 Euros) and return to airport is only one hotel shuttle per day.

GermanyOur room was tiny, we booked as a family of 3 and got one bed added to the room. This led to the fact that moving in the room became difficult because walkways were basically only one foot wide... Price level quite high compared to other places.
Hotel is about 3km to the airport, next to a petrol station and a supermarket, good infrastructure. We arrived around midnight - and walked there to save the money for a taxi which is around 4500isk.
