How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The shower space is too small and the shower head was a little clog, so water wasn't coming straight or strong enough.
Very good breakfast, good selections to eat.

Our room's AC was stuck on 19º (cold for us) and we couldn't change it. We reported it but it looked like they couldn't do much about it.
Huge room on the first floor, with a great view to the front of the hotel. Great beds, really comfortable. Very nice restaurant with enough options, good breakfast.

There was no hot water in our room. The staff apologized and kindly gave us another room, but the WiFi was very poor as it was the very last room of the corridor.
Spacious room and comfortable bed. Professional staff and rich breakfast with many options (gluten free bread, just ask). We saw the northern lights right behind the hotel

It is lovely that coffee, tea and hot chocolates are freely on tap but I would prefer to pay for them and have the dinning room open earlier in the morning - 7am is a late open for early risers.
The room was clean and a good size the staff were lovely and the food was good.

Someone came in to try and clean the room at 8:45, waking us up. But I think all other guests were from a tour group who had left so they'd presumed we'd gone too.
Nice, traditional hotel well located for the glacier lagoon. Room was basic but clean and functional. Breakfast was good if you want to try traditional Icelandic food.

price for dinner. Portions could have been bigger for the price too.
Breakfast was the best we had in Iceland. It was a warm and cosy hotel. The location was great. The mountain view room was stunning. Easy check in and check out.

Perfect for accommodation if you’re going to the Glacier lagoon, have a car, but can not afford the price at the location.

These rooms really should offer tea/coffee facilities IN the room. A fridge would also be an addition that takes it from a hostel to a hotel room. Quite a noisy building.
Location was good. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Bathroom good size too with great shower. Breakfast was really good.

A lovey family hotel in a remote, picturesque location right on the ring road. The family room was a great size, lots of room for luggage and space for children to play. The shower was a little outdated, however this didn't bother us. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant severed a variety of delicious meals and including a children's menu. The highlight was the breakfast spread, with an array of home made baked goods and preserves, hot options, cold meats and cheeses, cereals and fruit.

Stayed for 1 night and the Wifi did not work properly throughout my entire stay in the new wing. The electricity jumped twice at night but it was quickly resolved. The toilet has a very bad design and water just spills out from the bottom and goes all around the toilet. The toilet bowl is just right beside and when it gets wet, it is difficult to use them. There is no kettle but hot water dispenser at common area.
Room was in the new wing and sizable enough for 3 people. Not the best with large luggages but still comfortable enough. The breakfast was very very good in my opinion and there were many handmade and tasty options (jams, breads etc). Definitely worth trying all the different options. Hot food (bacons, eggs, sausages) was also tasty. Wifi at breakfast area was fine when I went in the morning. Breakfast made me push up the score by 1.
