How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great friendly staff. Location is right next to the water so you could watch the aurora from the hotel. Breakfast was generous. Dinner was great too.

Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The receptionist went out of her way to make sure we had comfortable rooms. The lock on my first room didn't work properly. When the receptionist couldn't adjust it to make it easier to lock and open, she upgraded my room. We arrived soon after the kitchen closed, but the waitress had the chef bring us mushroom soup and bread. She went out of her way to be sure we were taken care of despite the late hour.

I loved the interior and the decor of this newly renovated hotel. The manager was extremely kind and told me a lot about the history of this place. My bed was really comfy,the sea view amazing and the breakfast simply outstanding!

The ability to control the room temperature - it got quite warm.
The people were exceptional; welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable. Rooms were great and the restaurant food was excellent!

The Chinese buffet dinner was very good, but I would have expected local cuisine.
Nicely modernized hotel with kind staff. The room was miniature, but it had everything you needed. The Nespresso coffee machine was a pleasant surprise. The room had an extra-large shower.

Nothing ....it was all perfect - we would definitely return
we were on a ring road tour and this was one of our stopping places for one night ....the friendly and helpful manager gave us an upgrade and our room was FABULOUS !! By far the loveliest on the trip ....the breakfast was delicious - a lovely selection of fruits/cereals and cheeses etc., and delicious eggs and bacon . The bed SO comfortable - the room was very tastefully decorated : modern & stylish. We ate in the restaurant in the evening of our arrival - again delicious and the staff were lovely ....just couldn't fault anything.....

We really enjoyed our stay here! We booked the family room and it was very elegant and comfortable with a spacious bathroom - restaurant was good for dinner (very tasty) and they had a plentiful breakfast. But the hotel management and service is what sets this hotel apart! We arrived in town with a flat tire and the hotel manager or owner (forgive me I forgot his name at the moment) went above and beyond to call the garage to come out to pickup the car to fix it! Our rental company had told us we needed to put on the donut ourselves and go to a garage and would have to pay for the new tires as it wasn’t covered, but he he called the garage in town and our rental company for us and got them to fix it at no charge and replace the 2 tires that were not in good condition to begin with. He took care of everything while we ate our breakfast and then drove us to the wonderful local pool in town (in his own personal car) so our family could enjoy the first half of the day while it was being fixed - now that is real customer service and I can’t say enough good things! Highly recommend staying here and thank you again!!

The location, the kind and warm staff & the food ♥️ I had the pleasure to meet with the owner who has great passion for antique maps & a good taste for design. We loved our stay and enjoyed our walk in the area! Will come back for sure.

Very kind, friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with modern bathroom but tasteful touches of more historic furniture and decor. Perfect location for watching the sunset over the ocean.

Beautiful recently refurbished hotel, with beautiful view. Very comfortable and pretty rooms. Friendly staff. We also had dinner at the restaurant, which was very good.

You can hear the people in the rooms next to yours. The have sound proofed the doors but not the walls.
The staff, dinner and breakfast were all great. The hotel is right on the water, we walked out and watched the sunset after dinner.
