Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe were greeted by friendly staff. They were courteous and eager to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food at the restaurant was superb, and the staff at the restaurant were extremely courteous. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The entire hotel is an architectural museum.

United StatesNothing at all -- honestly, we are dreaming about going back.
The hotel is stunning - you're literally inside an old convent that has old artifacts and new art tastefully spread throughout. The grounds are immaculate, and picturesque, the staff is super knowledgable, and professional. The ambience of opera music plays softly through the space, and romantic candlelight abounds at the restaurants and stunning spa. The rooms with spa access have access to the heated pool and sauna pool, which is something right out of a movie. The food at the two restaurants is some of the best in the country.

United StatesIt was a bit too warm in the room for our taste and we wish the a/c was stronger. Also, no one is at the front gate greeting guests and no one offered to help us with our suitcases and/or direct us to the front desk (which isn't obvious).
We loved the rooms (romantic), the decor at the hotel, the museum on site with neat art, the staff (very friendly), and excellent food (at the restaurant).

United StatesI’d say just a little bit out of date in the room facilitates. pillows weren’t great so ask for more or others. spa costs $100 is per day unless you already connected it to your package.
the expansive grounds are lush and alluring. plenty to explore if you have the time. you honestly could spend your entire trip form the pool to the spa to the museums and restaurant only at Hotel Museo. the beds were comfy and shower was strong. the room seems to auto play old time jazz makes for a nice little vibe.

United StatesThis hotel is a main attraction in Antigua for its museums and beautiful restorations. The rooms are lovely. Because it is so pricey I would not stay more than one night, which is more than enough to get the feel of this unique hotel.

United StatesThis is our 2nd time visiting. Our first visit was last year. I did not like the construction work being done in the pool area while the pool was opened. I wondered if the work could be done during the closed hours. Also, there was a lot of debris in the pool. It looked like the pool was not vacuumed daily as it should. The pool is the best feature for families. It should be well kept. The adjacent jacuzzis were too dirty to use. Thankfully, our suite had a clean one for us to enjoy.
The deluxe suite accommodations were great for my family of 4. We loved the room service and daily turndown service.

United Kingdomthe reception staff, including the manager gave very mixed messages. we weren’t told beforehand that we would have to place a £350 deposit in addition to the price we paid for our holiday stay. usually hotels hold and amount on your card and then release it upon exit. when I made the deposit, the man on reception said that this would be returned back to my bank account as soon as we check out. when we checked out, we were told that this wouldn’t be the case because of a ‘miscommunication’. this was told to us by the reception manager, who blamed us. my friend that I travelled with, speaks Spanish as a first language so she said how could it be a miscommunication when we spoke in Spanish, it was an issue from their side. then one of the manager’s team members held her arm to calm her down it seemed because she was shouting at us. we couldn’t believe it! never had this issue with a hotel before. the outcome is that we have now told it would be returned to my bank in 2-3 weeks which is a lot of money to be missing. we also got charged for the bottles of water left in our bathroom which had no sign to say they had a cost. I’ve also been sent invoices in spanish with no explanation of what they are since checking out.
this hotel is 5* for a reason. the amenities, the standard. the beauty. it’s amazing

United StatesRoom was a bit dark, but actually did not bother me here as it was so comfortable and there are so many other outdoor areas to relax and hangout.
Stunning property - the best in Antigua (and I’ve stayed at the top 3 hotels including Porta Hotel Antigua - second best, and Pensativo House Hotel). The hotel has beautiful ruins/museum and every part of it is magical. While my room had an interior courtyard view so was a bit dark - it was very large and extremely comfortable. You must spend some time at their spa, one of the more beautiful spas I’ve been to. The food was good (and had tons of gluten free options including pizza, pasta and bread wow!)

MexicoThe check in was very painful and the stuff during check in was rude. The restaurant sometimes took a long time to get you a table and asked every time for a reservation.
The spa is amazing! The views are great and overall the hotel is super beautiful and comfy. Will definitely go back.

United StatesWas not real impressive with the bar. Went in, had a drink, and left. Did not return. Many more choices out in town with more character. Little more signage to the check in counter would be nice. Wandered around until asking and get directions.
Upgraded to room number 1 due to a conference taking place. Unbelievable stand-alone room secluded from everyone else. History of the place and museum is outstanding!
