Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere's nothing to dislike about the Leven house
The property is amazing, great location in the centre of Crieff. The owners are friendly and very welcoming. Beautiful room and views. We forgot to put our breakfast order in, but were surprised by a breakfast takeaway bag outside our room in the morning.

United KingdomNothing, it was perfect.
Nicola and Duncan were incredible hosts. Leven House was the perfect place for us, a cosy room with lovely homely touches. A gorgeous, spacious bathroom with a incredible shower alongside our beautiful bedroom meant we slept like logs! The breakfast in the cosy dining room was such a treat and the best breakfast we had in Scotland. Duncan and Nicola were so friendly, and helped us with our check-in as well as being super accommodating of our early check-out. The takeaway breakfast option was perfect for the next leg of our journey. In all honesty, we didn't want to leave.

South Africa3 guest room tight for 3 people and luggage but this was not an issue for one night.
Good location in walking distance to centre of Crieff and it's little shops. Great off road parking, room was beautifully clean with antique look furniture theme, bathroom clean too.. Breakfast tasty and plentiful. Attentive owner.

United KingdomThe only small thing that we didn’t know about was that we were on the second floor with a lot of steps. Next time we go we will ask for a first floor room.
We have had a great time there. The house was a really good place to explore the area, near the trossachs and Callander. The hosts were lovely and the room very comfortable.

United KingdomNothing.
Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. A special mention also to the breakfast waitress who was a star. She was polite, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely use this B&B again and would highly recommend it to anybody. Thank you. Steve and Brenda Smith.

FranceThe mattress was too hard for our taste, but the hotel was quiet and we slept well. Maybe the kettle could have been bigger and with a stand, this one has a short cable.
Our first stop in Scotland, perfect place to recover from the journey from France. The parking spot is huge and just behind the hotel, it's really convenient. The room was great and clean with little attentions. There was even some books and children books and a radio with Bluetooth. The breakfast was perfect, with some choices from full Scottish with haggis :), to yogurt or eggs. The person serving the breakfast was really nice and thoughtful. We were near stirling and the Wallace tower, and loch Lomond. Overall a great stay ! If you have a car, I recommand taking the little road between Muthill and Garrick, the view is stunning !

United KingdomNothing. My whole stay was most enjoyable.
The location was easy to find and had a private car park that was not over-busy, so parking was easy. The hotel was located very close to the town centre which made exploring Crieff very accessible. I was asked to order breakfast the evening before, which was convenient; I chose more-or-less the full Scottish breakfast each day, which was tasty and well presented.

United KingdomThis is me being very picky, and is a very minor thing, but the bed was a little firm for my taste, but that did not stop me from having two excellent nights sleep.
All of the team at Leven House were really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel very welcome indeed. This is definitely what you would call an authentic Bed and Breakfast experience. Warm hospitality with a family feel. The bedroom was lovely and cosy with some lovely touches throughout. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, and lots of it to get you off to a great start to the day. The pre-ordering concept is excellent in my opinion and makes for a seamless experience first thing in the morning. The dining area is bright and with some lovely classical music playing in the background makes it a really lovely place to start the day. I would certainly love to return one day.
