Absolutely nothing - everything was perfect!

Historic, clean, beautifully decorated, unbelievable views! The Hosts, Greg & Sofi, were so welcoming and genuine … you could feel their warmth & honest joy in what they do! Incredible homemade meals by Greg & delicious deserts by Sofi! The whole town of Puycelci is a step back into medieval Europe without all the cheap junk shops - beautiful, peaceful & fantastic views all around.

There is a lovely rug in our bedroom which was a little slippery and may need to be taped down.

My daughter and I were greeted by friendly staff, very warm and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed a little house tour and the staff's enthusiasm for the premises and it's history provided by Emma. The food was absolutely delicious. Simple, fresh and sophisticated in it's simplicity. A beautiful building. We enjoyed knowing the owners were fellow Australians.

They only offered a very basic continental breakfast and there was no pool or onsite free parking as such.

We went just to do an overnighter in the area as we were attending an event nearby. What I was surprised about was the location! It is one of the most beautiful small hill top towns I have ever stayed in in France. Wonderful views from the town over stunning countryside and lovely period properties. there was also a couple of well positioned restaurants there to eat out or just have a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Our room was very spacious ,very traditional with a well equipped spacious bathroom.

    Nothing - enjoyed eveything

This beautiful auberge was definitely the highlight of our trip. Situated in the most stunning bastide town. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners Sophie and Greg and we had the good fortune to experience wonderful evening meals cooked by Greg. The overall experience was amazing and I would have no hesitation at all in recommending L’Ancienne Auberge to all our friends.

We had no complaints at all and hope to return at some point in the future.

Everything about l'Ancienne Auberge was superb: its location in a beautiful village, the comfort factor, the character of the building and above all, the delightful famiy running this establishment who give guests such a lovely welcome. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. Greg and his wife, Sophie run the hotel, with help from their daughter when she's home from her university studies. Greg is the chef and Sophie made the delicious desserts. All the meals we had were excellent and we enjoyed them in a pretty, flower-filled private courtyard for guests.

    We have absolutely no complaints.

The L'Ancienne Auberge was a lovely place in the centre of the beautiful little town of Puicelsi. Sophie and Greg were perfect hosts with delightful personalities. They made us feel welcome and were very accommodating when we arrived with our electric bikes. Our room was spacious, clean and had a breathtaking view of the surrounding valley. Greg was a fantastic chef and we very much enjoyed our meals there as well as the whole experience staying at the L'Ancienne Auberge!

Being centrally located, there is likely to be noise outside, and the outlook is limited. But the negatives are negligible if you like characterful destinations.

Great location in the centre of this delightful hill-top town (don't be put off by the hourly chimes!). The building itself is full of character and history, and our host made us extremely welcome. The rooms were large, comfortable and interesting - no two the same. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and the demi-pension arrangment was very good value. Parking was easy, but we were out of the main season.

We stayed for 2 nights and visited the neighboring towns (Bastides) . Beautifully decorated rooms, friendly owners. They speak good English, but knowing a bit of French certainly won't hurt :-) Greg is a great chef, we highly recommend having a dinner at the hotel.

The village is a beautiful medieval village which is quiet and peaceful. The hotel is a lovely old building overlooking the church. For dinner we preferred to, and very happy we did, go along with culinary suggestions prepared and served by enthusiastic Greg. For us a perfect place to unwind.

Just a word of warning. L'Auberge is located in a very old building (which as been very well renovated inside) in a tiny village, and there is no parking. It is possible to stop outside the hotel to briefly unload luggage or passengers, but in doing so you are completely blocking the street. You are then directed to park in the village square, just a short walk away (It seemed longer in the rain!) In high season even this may be difficult, in which case parking may be some distance away outside the village - but the stay at L'Ancienne Auberge will be worth the effort.

Our hosts at L'Ancienne Auberge were wonderfully friendly and professional. We had booked in for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and as we were a bit early, and this was very much off season, we asked the chef what he was giving us. Not only did he explain at length, but invited us into the kitchen and showed us the preparations being made. It was all delicious, and belied my maxim of "never trust a thin chef"!! The room was excellent and breakfast was fine

Room does not have AC. We were there during the summer heatwave, and unfortunately it was not possible to cool down the room with the vent and opening the windows. :-(

Location is great, hotel has its charm. Very friendly! We asked for a semi-pension, which also included breakfast and dinner, which were good. Room was large with large windows. I warmly recommend this hotel at any time except during summer heatwave.
