Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was very little I didn't like during my stay. The cocktails were quite expensive but were generally just OK and could be modernised/updated/improved I suppose. Our air conditioning unit was fixed to 22 degrees but definitely didn't get the room down to 22 degrees (it was more like 26 degrees). But I am just nitpicking, these are not big issues.
The food was amazing - cooked breakfast from a menu alongside continental breakfast also, lunch from a menu, and the dinners were outstanding with a six course meal on most nights (or a buffet one night). The beach was gorgeous and the water was clear and full of sea life. They catered very well to our twin 2 year old daughters also.

United StatesWe visited during the school holiday season (mid-April) and there were many families at the resort with small children. If you have a group of adults-only and want a quiet beach experience, I would suggest checking the school calendars in New Zealand and Australia before booking.
The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and the setting was truly spectacular. The resort was recently renovated with high quality fixtures in the rooms/facilities and the overall layout creates a sense of intimacy with winding paths and lovely landscaping. The resort is large enough to have something for everyone and everyone, whether you prefer to lounge with a cocktail or have a more active vacation with kayaking, scuba, snorkeling and yoga. Our group snorkeled every day (combination of boat excursions and snorkeling at the resort beach) and we were blown away by the diversity of coral.

AustraliaNothing really! The only thing we had to ask for was our room to be cleaned one day, however this may have been a result of some wet weather. Other than that, it was a spectacular time.
The facilities are fantastic. The staff are lovely. The meals are sensational - up in the ballpark of fine dining at times. I've dived all over the world both as a professional and for leisure: the snorkelling just three metres from the shore of the resort is some of the best I've seen. The life is thriving - the colours in the coral, with minimal bleaching, is breath-taking and the varieties of fish make for hours of fun for all.

FijiFood portions can be bigger and/or sides must be included without extra cost. Some activities were suddenly canceled. Bottle Water should be included since is not a cheap hotel.
Food quality was amazing. Staff helpful and friendly. Pools and amenities are quite nice. We had late checkout without problems. Toilet and shower are beautiful. Location and sunset point is amazing. We would like to return in helicopter!!

AustraliaAt this price point, non alcoholic drinks and morning barista coffee should be included in the compulsory food plan. No problem paying for alcoholic beverages which are very fairly priced. A beer or bottle of wine or cocktail is less than an equivalent restaurant in Australia.
Secluded cove provided perfect beach conditions regardless of the weather. The food is genuinely world class - the equal of 3 hat restaurants in Melbourne. The service from management, bar, restaurant, activities and house keeping staff is excellent. The staff are genuine, friendly and exceptionally well trained. The snorkeling immediately in front of the resort is brilliant.

AustraliaGoing home.
Food was excellent, varied based on days of the week, Friday is buffet with shared tables to allow guests to meet each other. Drinks where reasonably priced. Paid activities were also reasonably priced, and well run. Any room is good - you probably won't be there much. You'll be hanging by the pool, spa, or out diving, snorkelling, fishing, doing things. If you get bored, go for a paddle into the swells around the island. I can see staff's team rituals to get set up every day - they seem to enjoy being there like the guests, not just a job. They were all locals who live in nearby islands, you get to see bits of their culture. You might get the chance to visit their village.
