Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRoom cleaning during our stay was disappointing - hair wasn't picked up off the floor and visibly dirty foot towel not changed. My parents got a little bit unwell by the end of our stay and the staff said it is due to the tap water - if this is a common issue, I suggest that the hotel provides bottled water in rooms or leaves a jug of drinking water in the fridge. Overall we still had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend coming here, but just pointing out the things that could be improved (this hotel definitely has the potential to be 5* if these things are addressed).
Probably the most beautiful place we have stayed and we have stayed at many nice places. Water is clear and calm, good snorkelling right off the beach. Rooms and facilities were 5*. We loved that it is a relatively small resort as it was very relaxing and more personal. Also liked the free snorkelling and kayak hire. Great views walking around the island and up to the top of the hill. At dinner every night, staff perform two songs and welcome/farewell guests by name. A live band plays music in the lounge area for a few hours every night. Staff are friendly.

AustraliaThe only thing I could fault is the pool pump can be noisy at night.

New ZealandRestaurant food sometimes didn't exactly match the menu which could be an issue with allergies. Although the food is always cooked well the dinner menu can be quite expensive so would recommend budgeting quite a bit for food as its the only restaurant on the island.
Location was great, you could snorkel straight off the beach. There were plenty of different activities to do both on and off the island. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good.

JordanReally simple things can elevate this stunning resort to 5 stars (its currently has 4 stars)- better food options, land line in the room to call reception/ room service/ house keeping, and better towel services as there aren't beach towels around the pool/beach only in your room and they aren't changed daily. Small things like that would make it 5 stars without a doubt, as it already feels super luxurious.
Beautiful Island resort- the location is just stunning. The Burea's (cottages) with private pools were just amazing, great ocean view and the pool was bigger than we expected. The snorkeling safari trip was also amazing!

AustraliaEveryone was so friendly and welcoming, loved the way the staff embraced us as patrons. The room was exactly what we wanted. Despite the weather being challenging, we still felt so rested and relaxed thanks to the serenity of the island and fanstastic crew. Spa on-site was also great and the ladies there were so nice.

New ZealandIsland is breathtaking, absolutely stunning! Awesome, friendly staff which takes the effort to make your stay perfect. The reefs around the island were cool and easy accessible with the complementary gear provided by the resort. we were able to spot sting rays, reef sharks and turtle just 1 min from our cabana’s! Also food in the restaurant was above expectation based on earlier reviews. Menu changed daily and had different, good quality, meals every day. Highly recommend staying at this resort!

New ZealandThe food - the menu needs more and needs to change every day to avoid guests becoming too bored of the food. Also, no water activities for non-swimmers available.
Room, beaches, friendly staff and the island itself as it is peaceful and away from the crowd.

New ZealandI thought access to the reef was closer and while there was some off the beach snorkelling not much sea or reef life. I could not complain about anything really as staff were wonderfull, however we did feel we paid a lot for it. The most we have ever paid, so top dollar.
Small resort, discreet. own plunge pool and outside area. Staff including the owner were amazing.

United KingdomThe air conditioning units are possibly quite old - very noisy! Some Bures are quite far from the main hub so if that bothers you ask for one closer to the restaurant.
Beautiful island with fabulous coral reef! Great for snorkelling off the beach, though there are resident ‘friendly’ reef sharks! Bures on the beach are very spacious and comfortable large beds. Very good value compared to the other island resorts close by and this is the only accommodation on the island. Laid back ambience adds to the relaxation !

AustraliaThe beds for us were too hard, but thats all :) One thing 'tho....remember for this resort it is a "wet" landing so wear thongs or sandals to get on the island as only this is mentioned in one abstract forum.
The location was fantastic. One of the keys things about the resort was no kids too. Also, being only 4 hours flight time from Australia. The resort was completely self paced with activities to do only if you wanted. The staff were wonderful. So genuinely friendly and go out of their way to help. Doing things in "Fiji time" is something you need to remember as it is relaxed and go with the flow type thing.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn’t like about our stay.
Matamanoa was the best holiday I have ever been on. The people were incredibly lovely and made it very special. In particular Wavi, Kelera, Naomi and Bai. The dinner was a different menu each night and the food was incredibly delicious. The snorkeling safari is a must. We are already planning another trip to come back.

New Zealandas many reviews mention, the food is disappointing- I would say it’s a 6 at best. completely understand that it’s an island and resources may be limited - but to charge the prices they’re charging for the food they’re serving is a bit shocking. the free breakfast makes up for it in some ways, but they still charge you $10+ for coffee.
the beach, the pool and the island grounds were all BEAUTIFUL. such a great place to get away for a few nights and just truly relax. the band that plays in the restaurant is also great and adds a nice little atmosphere to the evenings. we also did some snorkeling there which was really incredible, lots of coral and bright fish. had the food been decent I would gladly give this place a 10 but there’s some work to be done in that area unfortunately.

There wasn't anything about this resort we did not like. Villa and private plunge pool was magnificent, we enjoyed time in our villa alone and felt as though we were the only ones there. Island geography is absolutely beautiful, the resort is stunning with everything you could want and the fact its adults only was the best part. Snorkeling off the back side of the Island was pretty decent despite the wind.
