Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere is a very loud generator located somewhere in the middle of the island which you can hear from pretty much all over, and the air conditioning units coming from each cabin are extremely loud. When trying to sleep it was a lot more noisy than we were hoping for, and not 'serenity'.
Beautiful location, lovely pool area, friendly staff, generous breakfast, very clean rooms with comfy bed. In general the resort has a very nice and classy feel to it.

United KingdomThe food was really terrible. Breakfast was good, but the rest is really not good. It is a shame as if they could provide good food it would be a true paradise.
Lovely room on the beach. Island is a little private paradise. Location is ideal. Staff so friendly and entertaining.

The location is absolutely stunning. Beautiful clear and calm water surrounding the whole island made for the best snorkelling and ocean swimming. Staff were excellent - extremely friendly and helpful with everything. Beachside cabanas we’re a relaxing spot to read and enjoy the stunning ocean views. The island was quiet paradise and there are plenty of places to meet people but also to get away and enjoy some peaceful time alone - definitely not your typical large resort experience.

New ZealandPool area may need some maintenance but I had to think hard about cons of this place
Amazing staff that made our family feel really welcomed, beautiful room right on the beach, comfy beds, good food, great snorkeling, lots of activities, ticks all the boxes. We really liked lack of compulsory meal plans which saved us a lot of money as we normally don't eat 3 course meals for the dinner.

AustraliaThe all inclusive package was not worth the money, the meal choices were limited and the only drinks included were juice. The social media pictures do not represent how the facilities actually look especially the pool.
We loved the snorkeling, the staff, the ocean front bure, the kayaking and the fact that the island was so beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The bure was clean and the perfect size for the 2 of us.

AustraliaWhen I ate in the restaurant, a staff member seemed keen to rush me out to accommodate larger groups. Fair point but I paid the same to stay there so the number of people should be irrelevant.
The front of house and cleaners were delightful and so accommodating. I was sick and they brought my meal to my room. To reduce waste, they send the menus via whatsapp and communicate on whatsapp so no need for in room phones.

New ZealandThe facilities such as the pool and deck area were really run down. The turtle sanctuary also hasn't been running in quite a while. A lot of the resort needs to be updated and the images posted on social media seem to be very outdated compared to what things look like currently.
The island is absolutely beautiful. We loved our beachfront bure and waking up to the sounds of the ocean. The snorkeling and swimming on the island was amazing. We also loved the sunset happy hour sessions on the beach.

AustraliaA small issue is that the gas cylinder for cooking ran out during the morning breakfast. As a result the bacon was over and they could not fry any more! I am sure this will be improved in future.
The location, island, beach and the resort is simply beautiful. The cabin rooms are clean and neat. They have a private beach in front of each of the cabins. The hammock, sand and the beach are the ideal way to spend a relaxing day. There are many paid and free activities like canoeing, snorkelling, fish feeding available throughout the day. The staff make you feel welcome and loved always. They are super helpful and smiling. I was hungry before dinner and they promptly gave me free biscuits😁 Loved their hospitality, the welcome and good bye songs! The food is yummy and not too expensive considering there is no other option on the island.

AustraliaThe menu was a little limited, I was expecting more traditional and fresh seafood.
We loved the peacefulness. The staff were so friendly. I took my two teenage boys who were totally looked after by the staff. The Sunset cocktails were a highlight and our Bure on the beach was just gorgeous.

United StatesWell, food! Food is the only reason why I couldn't rate this place 10/10. This said, Bella, a new director, just joined the island when we were there and transformed the place within a week to much higher standards. There is still room to grow, but I have seen what Bella can do in a week, so I am confident that this will (and frankly it must) improve! If food is improved, there is no question that we will come back! FYI: The big portions and food waste stopped long before we came (see other reviews).
Everybody is just so amazing. Lucy (server) was fun to work with each and every day. Mr. T (activity guy) created cool activities every day and helped to arrange whatever we desired. So did the reception staff and everyone else. Everybody is always smiling, always helpful and always seems genuinely happy. The cleaning personal tried to help us to get a coconut from the tree, unsuccessfully: Without asking or charging for it, she came back 5mins later and brought us some coconuts, which was such a considered and wonderful surprise. If you like it quiet and charming, then this place is just for you. We stayed in the ocean front room, which was super clean, perfect view and very comfortable. In front of the room there were lounge chairs and a hammock, what can you ask for more? Snorkeling is stunning right next to the hotel. Reef where the eye can see! Fishes everywhere. Perfect water quality and super warm waters. My underwater camera handle broke and I was 100% sure that I couldn't get a replacement for it on the Island... well that sucks! However, everybody told me to speak to Isoa, the handyman on the on Serenity Island! Isoa took the handle and camera housing and brought it back a couple hours later with an improved and handmade handle! A handle that will last longer than the handle I had before. He didn't take any money or anything else for it, the only thing he said was "You are on my Island, and I want to look out for you and ensure you have a great time" - wooow! The handle Isoa made will travel with me around the world and always remind me of Serenity Island and all the wonderful people we met! And in addition, a palm tree was planted right in front of our room, with our names engraved for a special celebration we had! Just beautiful!

AustraliaThis is the place to go when your purpose for travel is to relax and unwind. The staff are the best - friendly, accommodating, hardworking fun and helpful. There is no loud music playing that makes the place perfect to reflect and unwind. Serenity Island felt like home! The food was great although hopefully, breakfast can be much more improved. I already miss Serenity Island the staff! Thank you for making my time very memorable!

Serenity island is beautiful. So laid back and relaxing. Loved the beach bures with the waves lapping gently on the white sand shore only a few metres away. The staff were super friendly and it was great how they sang to greet everyone on arrival and departure, as well as every night after dinner. I also was impressed how they catered for my Coeliac Disease (gluten free diet). The chef was quite knowledgeable about it and the staff were well-briefed.

United KingdomNo snacks, would have bought these at an extra charge but none available The breakfast included wasn’t the best - the napkins / tin foil weren’t enough to keep the flys off. Invest in some proper covers for food that’s left out. We caught a glimpse of the staff living quarters, the owners need to update this for their staff. The staff seemed perfectly happy but given they spend so much time on the islands they should be given a revamp as they deserve it!!
Amazing staff Beautiful beachfront room with private hammock - go for beachfront instead of garden if you can! Good snorkelling Great to have all the activities planned every day at no extra charge Good Wi-Fi compared to other islands, even Wi-Fi in the room Saw a picky review about there being no marmalade - the lovely staff have since added THREE homemade marmalades to the menu so are clearly listening to feedback :)
