Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWhile common areas were generally clean, the hostel could defitnitely use a little updating/deep clean (ie. fingerprints and stains on doors and walls, showers didn't drain properly, etc.). In general, not the cleanest but not the worst hostel I've been to.
Works fine as a transitory hostel where you sleep for a night or two. Slept in a 8 person dorm, beds were comfy and clean. The pool area was really nice and there were people singing songs outside in a group when I got to the hostel at around 7pm, so they do have some entertainment! The lady at reception was really friendly and helpful.

AustraliaAggie gave a very friendly reception and informative. We required medical help and were greatly assisted. Taxi from airport was 25 FJD. Room 6 was very spacious. Hotel is only a very short stroll to Wailoaloa Beach. Pleasant affordable restaurant across the road

FranceA/C was too strong, I was cold at night even with a jumper on The showers are not convenient The side bars of the top bed I had were broken (tied up with sticky tape), which made it dangerous to climb up and down the ladder.. Someone stole the water bottle I stored in the fridge No kitchen for guests so you can never cook (seems to be the same in every hostel in Fiji though..)
A/C in the room Spacious dorm, not too crowded like the other hostels around Nice swimming pool Friendly staff fridge storage available Good location Activities via the sister hostel 30m away

United KingdomNothing - this room and hotel was great for the price and short stopover we needed.
We used Bluewater Lodge as an quick overnight stop transiting through Nadi - but for the short time we were there we enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped us out with local food options when we arrived late, and helped with local tips/etc in the morning before our departure. Room was spacious and clean, and shared facilities were also well kept. Would recommend.

United KingdomResearch Islands before you go!!! This accommodation booked everything for us and we ended up paying alot more than we could have as I think they get quite a commission. And we were not told some info. Like the fuel fee for the boat (not alot but added extra) and meals being a mandatory extra cost. Lucky we found out before we left for the islands. We only done 4nights, 5days tour. Blue lagoon was lovely, Mantaray island was good and wish we had done 2 nights there cause Southsea is just a day tour you can do from nadi so not sure why we were put on that for a night as its everything we said we didn't want and didnt enjoy it. Everyone who stayed overnight said exactly the same thing. We also had to change our times for the boat pickup as the boat stops at the islands 2 times a day and we would have ended up sitting on the boat for 8hrs instead of on the island. This happend twice! We were lucky we chose to do more expensive tour. Our friends done the backpacker ones and some of the places they stayed were horrendous. Rats, bed bugs, unwelcoming staff, glass and rubbish all over beaches and more. They ended up getting upgraded.
Room was decent size, we stayed before and after our island hopping. I preferred the bathroom that was in the room compared to ones without. Seemed cleaner. Location is great, close to food places.

BrazilA few touches of maintenance in the common areas would make the experience a bit more pleasant. The pool and the garden could be cleaner. Breakfast prices with good but simple items are the same of other more substantial places, which made me go somewhere else on the second day.
Bluewater is a decent lodge which offers affordable accommodation at only few steps to the Wailoaloa beach and the airport. Many beach clubs around, with affordable food and drinks options - its Fiji! There is also nice supermarket just 2min walking distance, super handy. I stayed in a Private Room with own ensuite, it catered nicely for the price paid. The secret for this place it is its people. Shoutout to Eggi, Tex and Jeff, who made my time there unforgettable. Would recommend.

New ZealandThe room is very minimal, not much more than a couple of beds and a single cupboard. Comfortable and spacious but nothing incredible.
The pool was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the AC in our room was vital for the hot nights, and the location was solid! This was a very enjoyable stay here, comfortable and good value for money.

AustraliaIt was what I expected for the price I paid and I would defitely stay there again.
I booked a room with an ensuite, I had aircon and my room was closest to reception but it was fairly quiet both nights I stayed. I chose this for my budget accommodation as well as convenience close to the airport and dinner places. The staff were so lovely with 24/7 reception my late check-in wasn't an issue at all. They have a cute little cafe with some baked options and coffee in the mornings and I had the best sweet muffin and coffee for breakfast both mornings. They have cold water in the fridge at reception to buy, otherwise the small grocery shop is one street over and easy to get any snacks/water, I could buy cheaper big waterbottles, as well as sunscreen from here for my island trips as that gets more expensive on the boats.
