Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing that I did not like.
The hospitality, the accommodation, the owner Seko, is serious & committed to ensuring everything is in order & correct, but he is not intrusive & gives you respect & space to enjoy your stay. The room eas comfortable, cool & clean overlooking the sacred Nile. The food was fresh, tasty & large in portions. The selection of drinks good. The other guests were absolutely great & i made a real friend.

GermanyGreat owner who was very helpful, the room was nice, and I loved the view from the rooftop! The hostel is on the island and is very easy and cheap to reach by public ferry (takes 5mins). Walking around the island is also fun. Check out King Jamaica for some good food. :)

GermanyBathroom is a bit small as pictures show, shower curtain could improve a lot.
Nice and quiet located on Elephantine Island. Rooms are basic but clean. The host will organise all tours and day trips with local agencies at fix prices that are total average or even lower. We did Felluca boat sunset cruise, Abu Simbel and transfer to Luxor and were not disappointed.

AustriaBe aware, it's not a Hotel but a Hostel, but with good standard. we had a room with own bath. room, bed and bathroom were small, but we spent most of the time on the terrace with a fantastic view. Very quite surrounding. Sico is a great, helpful host. Don't miss to book a tour with a sail or motorship, for a real good price you get a boat on your own. We had a wonderful time at Siko Kato. Relaxing on the terrace, cruising the Nile, swimming and watching birds.

TurkeyFriendly hosts, especially Mustapha is a great local guy and also a guide who can take you for a trip before the sunset on his boat. Hanging out with Mustapha is pure coolness. Highly recommended. And rooms and bathrooms are all good for what you paid for.

RomaniaNothing to complain really.
The location being on Elefantine Island but also with a splendid view over the Nile and desert makes this place perfect for those who want to take a break from the city chaos. The village people are also very kind. A few days in a place like this among the nubian people is like a breath of fresh air. The host, mr. Seko Kato, is also very helpful, communicative and can also organize transport to several destinations. It is a good value for money and not exepnsive.

Quiet part of the island with an awesome Nile view, a small beach nearby and friendly hosts. The terrace offers some relaxing time after the hassle of the city.

NetherlandsThe WiFi was not as strong and reliable as I would have liked. The ensuite bathroom was quite small, which made it a bit uncomfortable.
Seko was very helpful and welcoming and communication with him was very easy. When I booked the airport transfer (which is at a cost) he made sure I arrived at the hostel without any issues. The terrace with the views of the Nile were superb. I stayed in a private room, which was confortable enough and had an AC. The shower had warm water.

MexicoOne one shower working for everyone in the hostel (it's a very small hostel so not too much of a problem) if the terrace could have a cover for the sun it would be great!
Very nice view from the terrace. The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hostel is very small, the good thing is that the beds are single beds, no bunks. There's WiFi, breakfast optional for 100Egp (Nov23). You can get drinks here as well without going back to the east bank. Beds are comfortable.

I highly recommend Seko Kato stay. The owner, Seko is cery helpful and can arrange everything you need. He organised driver, which punctually waited for me at Aswan airport and took me to the ferry boat, where the owner was waited for me and took me to the hostel. The room was rather basic, but clean, with AC. There were delicious breakfasts every morning. And what is the best- view from roof. You can admire Nile rover and listen to birds.
