Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

If you’ve come all the way to Abu Simbel, think of Habib Camp as an additional must-try in your itinerary. Full-on Nubian-influenced hospitality with a stunning lakeside setting and view of Jebel Shokha. Everything feels natural and not over-wrought, with just the right balance of traditional warmth and modern comfort. The owner, Habib, is the jewel in the crown - a constant presence, yet never intrusive. He knows when to tend to your needs, and when to stay out of your way and is an utterly lovely person to boot. And the food - wow, the food needs to be experienced to be believed. Just tell Habib your preferences, and you’ll have never go hungry!

FranceThe place is for me MAGICAL. It is far away from big hotels and a bit far away from everything (but close to the airport according to maps) BUT IT SO WORTH IT. The fact is that because it's a bit far it allows for calm, privacy, peace and a GORGEOUS landscape. I wish I could have stay one more night to enjoy this place more. I can't emphasize enough how rare it is in Egypt to find such a gem like that. I will definitively come back.

RomaniaThe room with 3 beds (the one in the middle) does not have a window, and the bathroom is not closed, in the sense that the dividing walls are not up to the ceiling and the smell and noises penetrate the bedroom.
The host is very kind. The house is creatively decorated, facing the Nile.

United KingdomThe only thing we noticed when we arrived was that the bathroom was a bit untidy when we walked in. Both the sink and the shower floor had quite a bit of sand in it, and it could perhaps do with a shower curtain as the water would spill all over the floor. However… because we had such an amazing time at Habib Camp, and the staff ensured everything was dealt with, it did not bother us too much!
We had an amazing time at Habib Camp! It was the most peaceful and relaxing place, only a 15 minute drive from the temple. The staff at Habib Camp were exceptional and extremely hospitable. From the very start they made sure we had everything we needed, and Habib (the owner) was so kind and made us feel like Habib Camp was our home. We want to also give a special shout-out to George and Abdul, who both worked so hard attending to our needs throughout our stay. Our trip to Abu Simbel temple was so special, but it wouldn’t have happened without the support and organisation from its amazing staff! Also a big thank you to the chef who cooked us some amazing, fresh food! If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I would highly recommend Habib Camp!

LithuaniaBed is big, but very hard. No hangers for clothes. Road map instructions would be useful, because difficult enough to find.
Good choice traveling on car. Very nice and quiet place next to the lake. Small, family runned hotel , green, clean well maintained territory. Host is very helpful, ready to fill all your requests. Very good food for brekfast and dinner – local fresh fish is recommended. Room is bright, very clean bed linen and towels. Quiet air heater to the cold winter nights. Abu Simbel is very clean and pleasant town.

HungaryWater pressure is so low that we could not bathe.
It is relatively far from the center and difficult to find it, because a resort was bulilt between the camp and the road. That is why there are quiet and comfortable seating areas. The hosts are nice. The lake shore is beautiful, the cleanliness is like Egyptian. Beer available. Hooray.

IndiaNothing. May be the address on Google Map needs a relook.
Everything here is so likeable. The serenity, cold wind from lake Nesseir, peaceful environment, good food, positive vibe, and rustiness that you can have at places run passionately by families and owners like Habib. Loved the campfire by the lake and endless cups of Sudanese coffee prepared by Fufa throughout our stay. The staff really tries hard to make the trip rememberable. This place is for those who want to enjoy Abu Simbel at their pace and not part of fast paced tour group. In our entire Egypt tour, we found Abu Simbel as the most majestic of all so staying here was really worth it.

SloveniaWe decided to stay in Abu Simbel after reading all the reviews of the Habib Camp. We stayed three days and it felt like a month! Such a beautiful, relaxed time in this beautiful serene safe place by Lake Nasser. It exceeded any expectations we could ever had, even after reading all the beautiful reviews on Booking.com beforehand. We decided to sleep in the glamping tents as listening to the waves from the lake, hearing the crickets outside while sleeping in the tent was more tempting than sleeping in the room. We enjoyed every moment! Relaxing through the day, swimming in the lake, enjoying freshly caught fish, going for boat trip and in the night a camp fire (even two!) accompanied by engaging conversations, singing and dancing. What a precious life. Thank you Habib - a wonderful owner who ensures there is great atmosphere on the camp ground. Thank you Habib's team - joyful, friendly & especially chef 'Fufa' who embraces you with her Mama cooking and care. Tip: The place is a gem if you are organizing private retreats for closed groups (cca 20 people),

AustraliaVERY difficult to find. NO ONE was there when we arrived, we almost drove off to another place to stay when 20mins after walking around the place trying to find someone, a man who spoke no English appeared. IT WAS DIRTY: a used bandaid on the sink. Dusty surfaces. SMALL rooms despite the ample land available.
Being by the lake. Once the staff were present they tried to be as helpful as possible arranging dinner (at a cost) and breakfast.

United StatesIt was difficult to find - our driver had to ask a few locals since Google Maps wasn't helpful. The rooms weren't as clean as we expected, however the staff came in and remedied that very quickly. Also, the fridge in our room wasn't working and so we lost some of our food during the stay. Prices in Abu Simbel are quite high, since options are limited, so we felt like we paid for something that would have been 1/10th the price elsewhere in Egypt.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was a peaceful and quiet area, with a great beach and beautiful views. My husband and I really enjoyed the delicious meals we had (breakfast and dinner).

NetherlandsThe bathroom was not clean and the mattresses were rock hard. However, the worst part was that the owner tried to cheat us. We had booked a tour with him which we ended up cancelling. When we cancelled the tour, he lied to us and said that we still need to pay 20€ because he had to get a goverment permit to travel to the desert. He even sent us a fake permit in arabic which was wrongly dated and had the information of a different travel group. If you go to a country like Egypt overpaying as a tourist is to be expected. However, it is unacceptable that the owner of a camp lies to his guests in that way and forges documents. Overall, we do not recommend you to go there.
We arrived at the Camp and our first impression was great. They were welcoming us in a very friendly way and invited us to sit at the campfire. The breakfast and dinner they served was delicious and the Camp has an amazing view on Lake Nasser.
