Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLocation was absolutely stunning. Food was incredible and service was great. They have a small beach area to access the water by stairs. On a hot day plunging into the Nile was exactly what we needed. Plus I get to check off a childhood dream. Also can’t beat the views, Sunset and Philae Temple

United KingdomNothing.
Everything was great from the beginning. Mr. Mohamed the Manager is very helpful and responsive via WhatsApp. During our stay there are not many guests coming, and he arranged all of us to stay in the special rooms with air conditioning. The staff were sooo nice and hospitable. The food was sooo great, the view from the room and restaurant was exceptional. There is a little beach that we can swim from to help with the 45 degrees heat. Even the dogs of the island were friendly and cuddly. I cannot recommend this enough!!

United KingdomThe dogs on the island are very friendly, though they had not met us until night time and weren't happy at first. I'm not sure if WiFi is available in the rooms. Because it's an eco place, there is no air conditioning. The price to go to Philae island (very nearby) is a little high at 250 EGP but not bad. The transfer to the mainland is also 150 EGP each way
It's a private island with not many rooms and beautiful views of the Nile. The mud hut style feels nice. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is quite tasty. The dinner at the restaurant was a great introduction to Nubian food. The garden is nice to see.

FranceA bit far from Assouan city. Requires a bit of organisation to go in town.
Very calm hotel in a superb spot just in front of Philae temple. Perfect to disconnect. Food is great and people working at Eco Nubia are super nice :)

NetherlandsSome wild dogs over there barking and not friendly.
As all nubio hotels, is a very diferent experience. The hotel has a beautiful rustic style and very comfortable. The rooms have everything you need. There is internet in restaurant area. The staff is very friendly and profesional. The rooms are on the top of the island so is hard to go up if you are not jonge. They have some gardens where they grow some vegetables and in the back also there is a nubian cemetery around big, big stones. The landscape is magic and the view of Philae temple is the best.

MalaysiaNothing…it was the perfect Aswan accommodation.
Authentic experience amidst the waters of the Nile. An honest back to basics accommodation that takes you back to simpler times. A romantic place to be, with the Temple of Philae as a backdrop is just jaw dropping. At night, the quiet and tranquility envelopes you and the gentle sound of the Nile will lull you into sleep. Sunrise and sunset were amazing and the breakfast, one of the best we had so far and ranks very high and we’ve been to The Cataract, Al Moudira and the Winter Palace. The best were the Nubians Egyptians, so gentle and warm. And no bakshish were asked from any of them. We were just left to enjoy this resort on our own. It might have been short, but it’ll always be one of the highest bar for us to compare our experiences elsewhere. A true gem of a place. Can’t stop thinking about it!

GermanyNot suitable for people with mobility problems or small children: No handrails anywhere, very uneven stairs in- and outside and insecure balconies.
The location of Eco Nubia is unbeatable - nature, silence, the view to the temple and a wonderful style.

United StatesNot all rooms are nice. First, we had a bad room. But then Moustafa changed the room after complaining. So I would recommend to book a specific room (like room 15, 16).
Moustafa who runs Eco Nubia is very motivated and cared very much about our demands The view to the Nile and Philae is just amazing
