Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe spent 4 nights at Basma Executive Club. Several weeks before our arrival, we were informed that the hotel was undergoing maintenance, and we would be relocated to the main building. However, upon arrival, we were eventually moved to the Executive Club without prior notice. The staff seemed disorganized and did not always address our requests. The restaurant's food was bad and quite expensive.
The room and the bed were comfortable, and we had one of the best views upon Aswan which was really nice. During our stay, we greatly appreciated the assistance from Merna, who was really kind and helpful. Also, the excursion to Abu Simbel went smoothly, with good lunch boxes, and thanks to our fantastic driver Mario.

United StatesWe stayed in the older (Basma Club?) part of the hotel which is located a short distance from the main larger hotel. Our hotel room was a nice size with a comfortable bed. The bonus for our room was the fact that we had a door which led directly to the outdoor terrace. The view over the city is amazing! There are tables and chairs where you can sit and relax and watch the city below. The location is very quiet. There is a pool with lounge chairs where you can relax and enjoy the serenity of the views! We can't say enough good things about the staff! We arrived early afternoon and wanted to relax on the terrace, so ordered room service. They not only brought our order, but included fruit and cookies! We had breakfast the next morning in the small breakfast room. The chef made us omelets to order and also brought us sausages and a cheese plate! We were going on a Dahabiya Boat tour the next day and found we didn't have a bottle opener. The front desk staff went out of their way to find us an opener, which was a life-saver!! We wish we could have been able to spend more time in Aswan as the Basma Club is in a good location. Special call-out to Merna, Mariam, Hany and Mohammed - you are the best and made our stay at the Basma Club special!

BrazilThe bathroom was leaking a little bit, but I just noticed at the end of our last day. The toilet was a little loosy in the floor.
Mariam and Merna were so sweet to us! I have never seen so much kindness, we are enchanted . I deeply want to thank you for all the hospitality and kindness 💜

BelgiumHaving to walk all the way to a separate hotel to get breakfast, perhaps next time will be best to stay at the other one. The price for the quality was close to not being good. Bed comfort was unfortunately not to the level of the price for a stay. Food quality was just okay, needs to improve.
The view and the service at the front desk. We checked in very late due to a delay in our flight but the front desk at that late night was kind enough to give a short tour of the hotel, where to head for breakfast and where in Aswan we where.

United StatesThe packaged breakfast was at par with what we would have expected. It was helpful because we had an early flight which meant we would not have any time to have breakfast at the airport.

NetherlandsThe location is a bit uphill from the city and next to the Nubian museum. This makes no difference for when you want to visit Abou Simbel though. And it is a very short ride per taxi. The announcement to prayer makes a lot of sound, but this is not influenceable by the hotel.
The Basma Executive and Basma Hotel share almost all facilities. You can book both. The personnel was very friendly and very helpful. The Basma Executive room was a bit older, however very clean and excellent view.

NetherlandsThe room does not have a balcony. We were quite surprised to realize other guests were walking in front of our room windows (not great from a privacy perspective), and we could access this shared terrace as well, but only when exiting the room and walking through the lobby. While we enjoyed the short walk up and downhill to reach the hotel, when you need a taxi they are hard to find - drivers don't appreciate the pot-holed, dirt road that leads here. Best not to rely on Careem/Uber here, but ask reception to call a driver they know.
Basma sits at the top of the hill and can boast the best views in Aswan. The little pool area is nice and the terrace is lovely for relaxation. The room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. Reception was friendly and helpful and staff were super responsive on the booking.com messenger app in helping us access a tour to Abu Simbel. As others mentioned, the Club sits right above the Basma Hotel which you have full access to as well as a guest at the Club. Highly recommended to have breakfast at the Hotel where the spread is great and staff were also very attentive.
