Had wonderful stay for our last night in Ecuador. Great food, massages, setting, mineral springs.

Not a lot of good options for eating outside of the property, expecially for vegetarians.

The entire property was kept very clean, including the mineral pools accessed from the room. I witnessed them power steam cleaning and draining the pools the morning after our arrival.

Everything about the hotel is perfect and the food is lovely, only downside is hotel guests have to pay to use the spa pools - this should be included. It was also a long wait to actually get into the spa and we were told we had to wear masks when others didn’t. Although the beds are so comfortable, other guests were quite loud outside and getting into the pool so we couldn’t get to sleep.

Friendly staff, delicious food and great location

the rooms were ok. I stayed in room 49, double standard room we could hear the next door people coughing. they also smoked and we could smell that. maybe have a smoking section? the pillows were not so comfortable (too hard) in the bungalow 36

The staff was amazing, the baths were great, the food at the restaurant was delicious and service was great.

While adequate, the breakfast is not at the level you would expect in that ambience. A buffet breakfast can be not only a little "aged", depending on when you get to it, but also runs afoul of many concerns of the pandemic which Ecuador, BTW, weathered much better than most other countries in South America. (The cabins were even better at one time with a tile tub that could be filled with the thermal waters. Now there's only a shower in its place which at our last visit had only a flimsy shower curtain.)

Termas de Papallacta is one of the most wonderful places in Ecuador or anywhere. It is located in a valley with a design vision that is unequaled anywhere in the world. If you splurge, as we do once or twice a year, on the private cabins around their own spa pools, you probably cannot find a more soothing place on this earth. Not only is this setting impeccably designed but the cabins and gardens are perfectly maintained. The variety and quality of flowering plants and trees is amazing. Even if you're going just for the day to the balneario (public pools) are gorgeous and immaculately clean. They empty and clean all pools daily. The cost of the daily admission is very nominal

We loved the hot springs outside our room. Food was good. Spa was great and reasonably priced. Easy hour drive from the Quito Airport. Relaxing and beautiful location.

Small thing but: not enough information in the room how best to make use of the hot springs. A map provided, but no other guide or instructions. Good standard room - but very oddly for a hotel that offers hot springs emmediately outside the room, no sandals or bath robe. The lack of these things and no explanation for example, that you could hire them at extra cost from reception was a bit odd..

Attractive mountain location with amazing views. Good restaurant, with excellent breakfast

We were unable to book some of the spa treatments we wanted to as they were fully booked - would have been helpful if the hotel had emailed in advance explaining that these need to be booked well in advance rather than booking when you turn up This was the most expensive place we stayed in Ecuador per night

Loved the fact we has our own hot pools outside the room to use - we didn't pay to use the other main pools and just stayed in these! The room was large and comfortable Good buffet breakfast and the restaurant was good value and the food excellent Friendly bar staff who let me put the US Open tennis on in the bar

We each had two massages. Same input for both of us. One was excellent but the other was not very good. Possibly a new person.

Met Franklin immediately and he made us feel comfortable. Spa pools were incredible. Steak dinner was fantastic. We really liked the loop hike above the resort before relaxing in the spa. Front desk folks at the spa were very nice too.

The food wasn't terrific, but it wasn't horrible. We found the food in Ecuador, in general, to be pretty bad.

This place is a fabulous oasis, located just an hour from Quito. The hot springs are wonderful - more than on par with any hot springs resort I've been to in the US. The spa services are also excellent. We loved it so much there that we extended our stay.

    Perfect pampering

We finished our tour of Ecuador here and it didn't disappoint. We were looking for a bit of pampering and a 48 hour chill out before flying home. The spa facilities are excellent, the lodges are spacious and comfortable, splendid showers and the 24 hour private hot pools are great (of course the main pools are a level above and not to be missed). The restaurant served some of the best food we had - lots of choice on the menu and a great buffet breakfast too. The only reason I don't score this as a 10 is that it isn't as personal as some of the other hotels we stayed in, but for some people that may be preferred any way. So the service is good, just don't expect everyone to know your name.

LOVE this place. The waters are so healing, the mountains are magical. The staff have genuine smiles and care for your experience being good, they were all super friendly. I felt like they are well cared for too. From the food, to the rooms, pools and gardens, everything was perfection! Really enjoyed hiking up the mountain by the river, in between soaking in the pools and enjoying the good food.

The only thing that didn't match the exeptional experience was the breakfast buffet. While there was an incredible selection, we found some items may be better served per order. None-the-less, we were thankful. Maybe having a choice of a la carte or buffet would be the solution. The other help would be to provide instructions for lighting the fire at high altitude. We figured it out eventually, but it's a different game than nearer to sea level.

We loved the very comfortable king size bed, the living area, the lovely interior design and decorating. Amazing! The private pools were lovely and quiet. We loved the early morning ease of going to the larger pools, too.
