“Chilcabamba Lodge is a lovely hotel, 45 minutes up a bumpy track from Machachi. The staff are super friendly and the food was simply wonderful (we recommend the in-house cookery session if you have time). There is a 3-course menu but you can chose to have less courses if you want. We stayed in the 2 bed family room for a view of the volcano, however this was only partial due to undergrowth at the border of the property (it would be great if that was pruned back). It was good to have a fire in the room, although we didn’t find the lounge seating very comfortable of an evening.”
