How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very clean, comfortable for an overnight stay. The host was very helpful offering a space for parking (for extra charge).

In description for this apartment I see "free parking". However, staff took additional 5 euro for a parking car in a backyard.

TV didn't work properly and during checkout housekeeper wasn't so friendly what influenced our final impression. It would be nice to provide guests with some basic cosmetics as shower gel.
We were here during New Year's Eve. Spacious room with own balcony as we asked (thank you!). Big plus for well- equipped kitchen and location of Pension Gina. Everything clean

I asked for the apartment with the beautiful ceramic fire place. I think it must be rented out full time??
The size of the accomadation was great. Very clean. Great kitchen, with everything you needed. My second stay.

great to a have a tiny shared kitchen and "aufenthaltszimmer." The rooms do not face the street, so it was quiet at night. The owner was very kind.

All the locks (main gate, door and apartments) have the same key, meaning that occupants from other rooms could potentially open our and others' rooms!

We had a problem with heating and freezing cold water at night and nobody helped us. We were unable to have a shower when we came back to our room late at night. We contacted Booking.com as well as the owner. After multiple messages on the next days the owner kept denying that there was a problem at all and claimed that everything was fine as we had a chance to have a warm shower in the morning, which we did. If you want to stay in this place, make sure before the arrival that the boiler and the heating system work at night if you want to avoid any problems. It is extremely uncomfortable to get to the hotel after a long day at work, go for a walk, come back to the room and be unable to get warm or have a shower and be forced to wait until the morning for a solution, if any is provided. The room was basic but clean, however, the bedding wasn't warm enough to keep us warm in winter with no night heating. We understand that there might be various problems happening and sometimes the owners are unable to react to them instantly but denying the problems and not even apologizing for anything is the worst and the most frustrating thing that might happen when you're on holidays and you pay for your accomodation. The overall rating could have been better as the place was clean in general and in a good location. However, the owner left me no other choice than lowering it due to the reasons I descibed above.

No faults at all
Very good value for money, as central as can be with private safe parking. Extremely clean with all facilities needed. Owner very helpful and kitchen also very good. Highly recommended

- landlord doesn’t speak English at all - it was cold there because central heating battery works like at 15% - we had one key for the entrance and the room doors. and it means that every neighbor can open our room door with their key as well

Check-in is difficult: you need to call the owner and speak with him in German only. He will arrive in 30 min to give you the keys. Some bed linen did not look so fresh.
The rooms are huge, there is a possibility for cooking etc.
