The absolute spirit of the place was young Florijan, who spoke excellent English - as seemed to be the case of most Slovenians. He friendly helped in all possible questions; where is the nearest grocery shop, which are nice cafés and restaurants, how to find this and that, and we also discussed Slovenian everyday items. We wanted the accommodation to be easy and not hotel-like. That was Penzion Pod Lipo fully and totally. In the green yard there is a large common balcony-terrace for the guests. We had reserved a room with a private bathroom and as a surprise there was also a small kitchenette. Really a successful combination! The Penzion is in the first floor, so it might be physically challenging for disabled people. There are about 20 steps and no lift. Even the Penzion is just few steps from the lively center, the traffic does not disturb. Bikes seem to be a very popular way of moving. Ljubljana is a beautiful green town.

Well, for us everything was fine except maybe a tiny tiny inconvenience was the rain. But that was something nobody can do about, we take what the heaven gives!

Spacious room, wonderful host, a jewel of a city. We had a wonderful 4 nights in Ljubljana, made even better by our host Suzana. The apartment was clean, spacious, bright and airy and steps away from the main square of the city, the river and the friendly bars and restaurants along the river banks. Suzana was very helpful, guided us to the secure parking that she provided and was always available. We can’t say more about Ljubljana - it is a historic city with a quiet, confident vibe. Easy to walk around, lots to see, many small squares, friendly people and modern shopping if that’s what you want. It’s a great base from which to visit local villages. We have lived and travelled extensively in Europe, west and east, and Slovenia is special. We have no hesitation in recommending Twix. We hope to be back.

Nothing - well, it faces a principal walking access to the historic centre on a dead end street that is also a drop off point for taxis - so some late nights were quite noisy with vigorous conversations.

Vila Piranesi Apartments - Parking included

Lovely room in a perfect location in a beautiful coastal village. Piran is a jewel in a wonderful country with all the charm of the Croatian coast (eg. Rovinj), but with the laid back pace and vibe of Slovenia. Vila Piranesi is clean, functional, spacious, and located steps away from Piran’s main square with its cafes, bars, restraurants, evening music and local children playing in the centre. With a room with a view of sailboats, it was a 2-night stay to remember. The large secure parking garage is outside the walls of the village and Vila Piranesi provides a no cost voucher.

Feel Ljubljana Centre

This place felt like home away from vacation. It was in walking distance from all the shops around the square. Thomas had an eye for visitors when he spotted us trying to look for a parking near his place. Great host, his hospitality made everything with check in smooth for us.

EVERYTHING! It’s the most incredible hostel I’ve ever stayed. The location it’s not the closest to Bled Lake, but it’s AMAZING, totally worth it. The hosts are incredible people, helpful and kind. If you enjoy nature you should definitely stay there. The breakfast is great too.

misleading about parking, we had to use a public carpark 15mins away. Which isn't good with luggage as it rains there a lot. Was expecting a washing machine but it has been removed, the plumbing was there.

The water heater was turned off when we got there and didn't know we needed to turn it on. Just be aware if you want a hot shower make sure it's on! :)
