When it was extremely windy the noise kept us awake.

A very spacious studio with a kitchenette and food and fruit left for us. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the waves crash over the reef.

It was our second stay at Avana, and Desiree and her staff were wonderful. Nothing was a problem, we felt well looked after, and the facilities and location were great. John used the kayaks a lot! We look forward to our next visit.

Was an amazing location with a great pool, jetti where you could see fish and Kayaks we could use. Desiree was amazing, helped us with any problems we had. Overall we really enjoyed staying here!

Great location, views and facilities. Awesome kayaking to the nearby islands. Very helpfull staff. Looking out over the reef we saw humpback whales breaching on the 5th of July and had sea turtles swimming past the end of the jetty on the incoming tide. Avana is paradise.

The two 3 bedroom apartments are joined - so if your neighbours are up late/early you will hear them, cupboards smell a bit musty.

Simply stunning location, with view of surf and lagoon. you’ll see fish at the end of the jetty and turtles if you wait long enough. Private, basic accomodation with everything you need to cook at home- perfect for families/children. Beach not ideal to swim although you can jump off the jetty and swim in the pool!

Amazing host Desiree thanks so much. Even the family owners on site took the time to have a chat and made us feel at home. We’ve stayed at other places on the island and this has by far been our favourite place to stay. Just down the road from muri. Close to town. You can kayak for free to the little islands which is absolute paradise. Great history learning how the 7 wakas left the lagoon here to go to NZ. Thanks so much Avana family, a fantastic time at your accommodation.

amazing place, right on the beach!! and the pool was awesome. super clean, Simple but amazing. had everything we needed, including free use of kayaks and water equipment. Jerry the cat was an added bonus. there was 9 of us and we all had the most amazing stay. can’t wait to come back!!!

Ceiling in apartment had an opening through to apartment next door. Unfortunately their noise amplified through to our apartment.

Desiree is a fabulous hostess. Very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place to kayak and spot turtles in the lagoon . Exciting night fishing off the wharf. Room clean and comfortable. Loved the bbq area and pool.

That we had to leave! No internet included. Did not have phone at the beginning but they added it at the end. No AC included. You have to add $10/day and this was not mentioned on booking.com... Missing mosquito spray in the room.

I liked the location, nice and helpful staff, the swimming pool and the kayaks.

Its right next to private resident, the dog would sometimes come over to units and leave poop in access points. Luckily, the staff are awesome at cleaning up inside and out.

The location is next to Avana passage so its right on the water, away from main road making it beautiful and peaceful.

Bottom toilet cannot flush toilet paper. Best for males.

Meet on arrival and tour through room and resources available. Clean rooms and facilities modern as can be. Hosts are wonderful! Everything walking or short drive distance. Best side of town for lagoon beaches and food! Missing the sound of the waves of already! Thanks so much Desiree and team :)

The apartment is not as modern as it appears in the photos. A bit dated and very hot with only air conditioning in one room. But it was spacious and had everything we needed.

The pool was amazing. The views were fabulous. Our host was very helpful and friendly. The fresh fruit provided was lovely.

The scraggly tree outside our studio which obscured a clear view of the beautiful lagoon.

The receptionist, Desiree, was exceptional, and went out of her way to explain and inform. The provision of kayaks for use was wonderful when the complex is on the water's edge.
