carpet is dirty allot of dirt spots all over the rooms and walkways. front glass have birds dirt. my room has bad smell. you need to keep telling the staff to clean your room. allot of time.

The cottage itself could use some updating (there was a bit of a musty smell) and some art on the walls to make it a bit cozier. Some lamps would also be nice, and maybe a carpet here and there on the bare floors. The fireplace was nice to have, but with only wet heavy wood available we weren't able to keep a fire going. Most amenities in the resort were closed, so it felt a bit like a ghost town as well.

The location was beautiful - right in amongst the beautiful green mountains, close to the ski resort, and a short walk to restaurants. The cottage was roomy and the neighborhood was quaint. We enjoyed the bowling and the spa, and the breakfast buffet was nice (especially fresh custom made omelets).

The lighting in the room was weak. There was not a minibar. The welcoming in terms of bellboy was absent. I pulled my luggage myself. Didn't request smoking room, but in the door there was not a non-smoking room sign, therefore I guess my room was a smoking room. The extra bed was small in length. There was not a lounge in the lobby, but could be good to have a rest.

The room was quite big and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff was calm and welcoming. Parking place was good next to entrance.

When i reached the resort I was told by the security to go to riverside hotel to (about 2 km) to complete the formalities. The staff at the riverside was not welcoming and could not provide any numbers for any help (room service, reception etc). It is difficult to get food and other essentials and you have to call the taxi to go and get it. Basically isolated place and you are on your own.

There is one but a very HUGE drawback to the hotel- the attitude to the guests. When you book the hotel, the description includes "Pool, spa etc." in the list of amenities, and only when you arrive do you learn that to sue them you have to go to the nearby Qafqaz Riverside. OK, the distance is short but it still makes some difference for the comfort of your stay. But really big problems waited for us further. The pool is supposed to work till 7:30 om but when we came at about 4 we were told the open pool is no longer accessible since "the party is going to be held there and the pool area must be prepared". And note that when we arrived at midday no one told us about that so that we could have made use of the pool earlier. And we were "kindly" asked to use the indoor pool (in +35 when we just wanted to get into cool water and sunbathe!). And there were some minor details which also demonstrated that we are not really important there.

very dull and sad ambience, very poor breakfast, few stuff. no facilities. staff was helpful and trying to accommodate. very expensive restaurant not worth spending money there. tv not working, technical issues in bathroom, bad smell of sewage. overall very poor and definitely not 5 star

The Hotel Star Rating of the afqaz Resort Hotel in Gabala by Booking.com, which is 5 stars , does not reflect the real rating of the hotel! However, I would not to book this hotel if I had known that rate of hotel by Booking.com is misleading! The most important factor that the facilities and environment around condo are not safe for the family, especially kids!

The location is good and the rest of all services are not acceptable, especially that I disappointed my family just because that I trusted Booking.com rating and description!

Had to use the pool and gym of a partner hotel while their gym and pool under repair.

Staff were extremely friendly. The garden of the hotel is amazing, full of fruit trees.

They did everything they could to make sure I have a terrible stay Steward offered wine bottle at 18 mannat AZN, BUT HE BILLED 95 AZN FOR that. Unfortunately I have to pay. And they didn't give me wine glasses because I was drinking it the day after I ordered the bottle. Make sure you drink the wine the same day, No collection of plates after food delivery at home, we called 4 times and no Iuck. Overeall, the experience was terrible
