The jeep driver who provides excellent service is the best guide. The sound of the river is like a bavana throughout the night. Love it.

This place was amazing! Located in the middle of the jungle, it had a lot of gorgeous sitting areas. We had dinner there and breakfast was given to us to take while on safari. There was a power outage while we were there and this place had a backup generator. We later learned that most places in the area don't have a generator when this occurs so we were forunate to be able to turn on the lights. The place had an AC unit that kept us nice and cool at night. The gentlemen running the place checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good. This place was definitely our favorite place we stayed in Sri Lanka.

We had a fantastic stay at Chill House Safari Resort. The room was spacious, beautiful and had everything we needed. A/C and Wifi worked really well. The best part about our stay was Hashan and his family, they are so lovely and did everything to make us feel comfortable. They also cooked dinner for us which was very delicious. We did the Safari with Hashan as well and it was the best experience. He is the best guide. He gave us lots of information about the animals and the park during the Safari. He has been a guide for a lot of time now and you can truly notice. He knows many good spots in the park so we were alone for almost the whole Safari and he is able to spot literally every animal, no matter how small. We saw so many different animals! He also organised for us to have breakfast in a small hut in the park which was so cool. So if you want to stay at Udawalawe and do a Safari, we can not reccomend this place enough!

Situado em meio a uma área verde exuberante, ao lado do belo Rio Belihuloya e com vista para a Cordilheira Horton Plains, o River Garden Resort dispõe de acomodações tranquilas e confortáveis como... The stay was by far the most interesting element of this resort. We opted to stay in one of the tent rooms to feel more adventurous without committing to a full-on hardcore camping experience. The tent itself is located on the hill behind the restaurant and can be reached via a beautiful winding path through the forest of the hills. Its very easy to locate and isn’t too far from the entrance. We were quite pleasantly surprised by the aesthetic of the tent interior and all the amenities provided. Literally everything we could need was available within arm’s reach. The property itself was a beautiful natural area with winding pathways and natural rock stairways to help move around and just taking a walk within the camp site area alone was breathtaking. It’s a fantastic place to take a morning walk and when we went further down the hill, the path leads to a shallow, natural river pool where one can take a bath in pristine clear river water. The area is so low down the hill and covered by trees so it’s very private. Beyond the resort and onto the main road a walk to either direction provides stunning vistas of misty mountains and bright emerald-green paddy fields that soothe the soul. The food of River Garden was some of the best tasting food we have ever had. Kudos to the chef and team for creating some amazing dishes ranging from traditional Sri Lankan to Western dishes: every day they demonstrated their prowess as master chefs. When we went out for activities they were kind enough to pack our food for takeaway so we could have a meal on the go.
