I knew what I would be getting. The cottages are really old and basic, and offer no luxuries. This is fine for me. What I needed was a place to sleep. I swam in lake Saimaa every morning before starting my working day. The location is beautiful. I chose this over centre hotel to have a chance to swim in the lake straight from bed. They had rental bikes available. Not very good ones, but worked for getting to centre swiftly.

Nice and spacious familyroom, with a sitting area and good beds (also the extra beds for the kids). Very clean room, friendly staff. Great location, close to the castle and right in the middle of town. The boats for the tours on lake Saimaa are just around the corner. Parking garage available. Delicious breakfast, with a lot of choice.

Very beautiful apartment with easy access to the lake Saimaa, a bit far away (approx 25 min to Lappenranta) but apart from that the owner was very nice and helpful. I wished we could have spent more than one day there.

incredibly nice B&B in a location directly at the Lake Saimaa that is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. Great host, great breakfast, by far the best B&B during our trip to Finland.

Location was excellent - basically at the harbor from which Saimaa cruise ships were leaving. Staff was also very helpful. Good breakfast

We had an excellent stay here at this hotel. It is across the way from the train station, so it is very convenient. The hotel is large and the rooms are modern and clean. We had great breakfasts and also visited the hotel's sauna for an extra 15 euros. It had two hot tubs, a cold tub, sauna, steam room, and an "experience" shower not to be missed. A great hotel!

The ambience of the place is what I liked the most here. A bit away from the highway by the lake amid the picturesque landscape of Punkaharju, the resort is among the perfect places if you are looking for a place to unwind. The Punkaharju ridge and the nature trails in Lusto area are just a few kilometres away - you can either walk or rent a bike from the reception. Apart from this, one can participate in a number of leisurely activities. The resort also has an aquatic park and rope park close by. For food you can visit their restaurant or even cook in the kitchen if you are camping. Talking of camping, they have quite a large area for pitching tent or parking caravan. Other options to stay include cottages. I stayed in one of the small economy cottages with two beds. It was decently size with a refrigerator and a microwave a couple of chairs outside. Given the size of the cottage it does not include any closet but has a shelf to keep stuffs. Finally, before I forget, I need to mention the staff who were very helpful and always served with a smile.

We were made very welcome and the chalet conformed to the description. No bad surprises. The chalet was spacious, heated before our arrival and the fireplace allowed us to spend good times inside even though it was -25 outside. The sauna in the chalet was a real plus too. Very close to the lake, the snowshoe or Nordic ski trails, it is a perfect location which gives the feeling of being in the heart of nature while being in the immediate vicinity of a clear traffic route, which is not negligible in extreme cold. I think we will come back if the opportunity arises.

Very well equipped, cozy place. Comfortable stay far from city. Interesting road with ferry. We will return during summer time for sure!
