Saiaritz offers air conditioned accommodation located in Amurrio in the Ayala Valley, 30 km away from Bilbao. Each room at this hotel comes with terrace, TV and a private bathroom. We chose Saiaritz to have a rural base close to Bilbao, with parking. It was a good plan but Saiaritz made it fantastic. The building is architect built, beautifully finished. Amurrio lies in a lovely green plain, surrounded by hills; in the middle of Spain’s heatwave we stayed cool. We could take the (air conditioned) train from Amurrio to Bilbao for a few euros, with no parking hassles. But by far the highlight of our stay at Saiaritz was the hilarious and warm family who run it, Eritzu (sorry I don’t know how to spell her name, but she will know I mean her) her brother Angel, parents, grandparents, children alll play a part in making you feel welcome. Located in the Gorbeia Nature Reserve, Etxegorri Landetxea offers fantastic views of the Orozko Valley. Its elegant rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Beautiful room and house. Both cosy and modern, spotlessly clean and super comfortable. The owners are kind but not intrusive.

Surrounded by nature, this historic building is located on the heart of Ayala Valley. Hotel Errekagain is set on beautiful grounds and offers rooms with heating and free Wi-Fi. Stayed one night as great to get to ferry back to UK next day. Basic but comfortable, coffee and breakfast, but no bar or snack bar. Very relaxed and friendly and car park on premises

This hotel is located in the Basque town of Llodio, 20 minutes’ drive from Bilbao. It offers bright rooms with free Wi-Fi, a TV and a private balcony. The manager of the hotel, Luis, helped us a lot and was very friendly. He is also prepared for us a nice breakfast.

Burruzkale Etxea is set in Orozko, 23 km from Arriaga Theatre, 23 km from Abando Train Station, as well as 24 km from San Mamés Metro Station. Fantastic host, very affordable and great facilities with beautiful views.

Offering a garden and garden view, ETXEARTZI is situated in Arciniega, 27 km from San Mamés Metro Station and 27 km from San Mamés Stadium. Very clean and tidy. Really enjoy our stay and the owners where super nice.

Located 27 km from San Mamés Metro Station, Satia Berri offers accommodation in Llanteno with access to a public bath. This holiday home provides free private parking and a shared kitchen. Beautiful location and outlook. Very friendly arrival. Cabins were like small houses. Very comfortable and warm.
