Great location a little off the beaten track from the usual tourist destinations, nice restaurants close by and not a lot else’s going on. Sun, sea and peace. Our host was in contact with us from before we got off the ferry and answered all our awkward questions as to which bus to get on ( the only bus) where to get off and was there to meet us. Throughout our stay he was available to assist us with car hire and local information. A lovely place to put the feet up for a few days.

Rooms Karla ligt in Polače, op 16 minuten lopen van Strand van Paljevina, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. The view from the balcony (see photo), like the whole island, is serene and so beautiful it is Heaven on Earth. It is a minute walk to the sea so you can take many quick dips. Dragonflies and butterflies are in abundance. The Aleppo pines are full of cicadas. The restaurant is also a minute away. You see the vines growing from your room and can drink the homemade wine at the restaurant; you see fig trees and can have fig jam with your breakfast; the salad seemed homegrown too. The staff are all really friendly and go out of their way to answer any questions that you might have. They go above and beyond to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. The location is great! There are more restaurants, if you want them, about 5 minutes walk away and you pass Roman ruins on the way. It is a moderately easy walk to the inland lakes (about 35 minutes walk on a hilly path through the woods) where the water is even warmer for swimming. If you like walking (or cycling) there are lots of different paths and tracks signposted, from 2-14 km. There is an excellent local taxi service to get you from the port, or to take you anywhere else on the island.

Boutique Pine Tree Apartments ligt in Saplunara, op 32 km van het nationaal park Mljet, en biedt een seizoensgebonden buitenzwembad. Great facilities. Nice breakfast. Very friendly owner

Apartments Lampalo ligt in Okuklje en biedt gratis WiFi. Dit gebouw ligt tegenover het strand en beschikt over een eigen restaurant, een barbecue, een tuin en een gemeubileerd terras. It was one of the best experiences we ever had! Jele and Petar were exceptional hosts and were just so lovely to us and our dog. They sent us a detailed description of how to get there and greeted us with wine and pancakes on arrival. They were always available and most helpful when we had any questions. The communication in English (and a little bit of German) was without any problems. The apartment was very clean and in the kitchen we found everything we needed. Very comfortable beds, air conditioning worked perfectly and the view is just spectacular! The bay is calm and idyllic without too many tourists and you can jump into the water right before the building. We will definitely return!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and very hospitable hosts and staff, making us feel instantly welcomed. As for the apartment itself, the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep every night. The cleanliness was also impeccable, and the room was well equipped with all the necessary amenities. One of the standout aspects of this accommodation was its pet-friendly policy. As a pet owner, I greatly appreciated the opportunity to bring my furry companion along. Furthermore, the location of the accommodation was ideal. Situated in a charming coastal area, it offered easy access to the beach and nearby attractions, making it convenient to enjoy outdoor activities with my pet. In conclusion, our experience at this pet-friendly accommodation was exceptional.
