I had the cabana at the top all to myself overlooking the lush green canopy of the Eje Cafetero listening to the sound of the Rio Quindio. Frequent buses take you to Salento, very easy to hop on one. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. You can ask Juliana for help and recommendations. Breakfast is typical Colombian. Few options for lunch and dinner also. Some spots to eat nearby and shops for necessities. If they hadn't been fully booked, I would have stayed longer than a week. Blissfull experience!

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Villa Salento Boutique Apartments & Spa is a recently renovated apartment set in Salento, 47 km from Ukumari Zoo. The place is 8 minutes walk from the main plaza and it is surrounded by a beautiful garden on top of a hill. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, a nice rain shower delivered good hot water. A floor to ceiling glass wall allowed for a beautiful view of the garden (we were on the ground floor).
