Archway Motels & Chalets offers quiet and secluded accommodation, only 200 metres from Lake Wanaka. Great location right above the city center, all the restaurants are within walking distance and even one of the wineries (the Maude winery) was right behind the corner, so we paid it a visit. The lady at the reception was very friendly and overall super helpful. The room was very clean, the kitchen well equipped and the A/C was a great addition (apparently you can’t find it in every hotel in NZ). We only stayed for one night, but it would be perfect for a longer vacation. It it also very calm and I can imaging that it’s quite kids friendly.

Opened in January 2017, the adults only Cromwell Escape is located 3.7 km from Central Otago District Council in Cromwell and only 100 meters from the new Lake Dunstan cycle trail. A really nice and comfortable place with a beautiful view and very friendly and helpful owners.

A lovely little motel in a quiet cul-de-sac, conveniently located for exploring the rail trail. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and nicely heated. The staff are friendly and considerate. I warmly recommend a stay!

The unit was new and super clean, fully equipped kitchen, they pay attention to many details and overall it’s just cosy. The manager through the phone was very friendly, the heater was on when we arrived late:) super affectionate cat accompanied us during the morning and amazing red sky during sunrise. Overall very peaceful and calm place:)
