The owner (Marko) was very nice and helpfull. He does his best to make you feel comfortable and can answer all of your questions considering your stay in the appartment and Piran itself. The appartment is very clean, looks quite new and has everything you need.

The location is good right inside the gates to the city and by the seaside, although there is the main road and a parking lot between the apartments and the sea. There is a view of the sea through the apartment window. The bed was super comfy as was the little sofa to sit on. The staff was great! Super helpful and friendly. The kitchen seemed well equipped but we did not use it. The ten minute walk into the city was pretty along the seafront, although the road is very busy. Just one flight of stairs to reach the apartment. The parking was easy once we understood what was going on. You drive through the gates, take a ticket and the apartment is immediately on your right. You then have 15 minutes to check in and unload luggage, this is all the time allowed for vehicles to be inside the gates. Then the staff gives you a card for the parking garage up the hill and opens the gate for you. You drive up to the garage, park and walk back to the apartment, just ten minutes walking. Parking was 15 euros for 24 hours we paid directly to the property. Use the card to leave the garage, drive back to the property to pick up your luggage. Staff lets you out through the gate when you’re ready.

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Hotel Bernardin. Great view from the balcony and comfortable room and bathroom. Breakfast was superb (variety and quality of buffet). Beach right in front of the hotel with free lounge chairs and sun umbrellas. There was no issue with finding space on the beach. Since it was pretty hot during our stay we used indoor swimming pools with salt water in a nearby sister hotel (Histrion). Plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Piran is a nearby town with nice restaurants, architecture and can be reached by a free shuttle bus service near the hotel.

The apartment was very clean when we arrived; there was complimentary wine, fruit, and snacks prepared, and the owner is very nice and speaks good English. We felt very welcomed. We asked for some recommendations in Portorož, and the owner wrote us a detailed list of restaurants and beaches around the area that were suitable for us with a small kid. We went to the places that were recommended, and we had very good experiences. The apartment has a wonderful view up on the hill, is easy to find with GPS, and has a big parking space free of charge. It's not far from the seaside, and it's very peaceful and quiet at night; we couldn't hear much noise from the beach parties. The bed is very comfortable, and the cot is also clean and safe for the toddler.

It was easy to find the reception according the waze / google maps, but we were there by our car. So if you dont have car there, its better to arrange the meeting directly at the property, if possible. Accomodation was perfect, very close to the city center and the promenade, staff also perfect and very kind! but the house is located on the hill, so if you are not in the good shape, you could have a problem 😝. But we had a strolley with 4months old baby and we made it (went up and down) more times per day, but the first climb was hard 😂.
