Lovely location in the village of St Auban. The room was large, spacious and really well appointed. Large and very comfortable bed. Free parking just outside the apartment. Nice garden accessible for guests. Proximity to the centre of the village, harbour shops and restaurants. The entire property is really well maintained and the host was very friendly and supper helpful.

Very posh and excellent value for the price we paid. Room 228 is small, but we were out sight seeing every day so the size was never an issue. Staff were exceptional. Paul the concierge welcomed us on arrival, handled our bags and showed us our room. He went through the emergency evacuation procedures thoroughly. I have never had hotel staff do that. The Whitley Neil rhubarb and ginger gin and tonic is the best gin and tonic I have ever had! Breakfasts were impeccable.

Just about everything, from the staff who went out of their way to help you. The rooms were perfectly made with clean towels and bedding everyday. The restaurant and bar staff are always ready to help, and the food was unbelievable, first class.with the menu changed each day.

The location is superb, only a few minutes from a good choice of restaurants, shops, public transport and the harbour is delight to wander around. The hosts, Alex and her husband, are so friendly and helpful. This is our 2nd stay at the Porthole and we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The welcome and continued care and attention from all members of staff was outstanding - so many thanks. The facilities in the bedrooms could not be bettered. Our room was well furnished, spotlessly clean and had good quality bedding and towels. The breakfasts were superb with an excellent choice. The stunning gardens and summer house were an added bonus. Well worth the five stars that it has been awarded.
