Currently it is under construction, however not closed.
Currently it is under construction, however not closed. The castle is probably the most famous among those owned by the Hungarian family 'Koháry', which once had the third biggest landholding in the Habsburg Monarchy. For a period, the family even gave the Portuguese King and the Bulgarian emperor. As a hiker, I give myself only little times to visit such places, so I didn't go inside. The castle represents the calendar (i.e. it has 4 entrances, 12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows), it is full of hunting trophies and the garden around it is the host of the National St. Hubertus Day (the day of hunters) of Slovakia.
