Fabulous - recommend you get there by 9am.

Fabulous - recommend you get there by 9am. Free to get in for over 65's but cheap anyway. Changing of the guard at 10am but you can easily walk around the grounds of the Palace on your own before then.

Large place but take up the opportunity to hire the Korean clothing - Hanbok. I did it at another location and just loved walking around in it. Free entry to the palaces if you do wear it. Much cheaper to hire outside of the palaces, especially at the Bukchon Hanok Village. Locals were coming up to us, to help me rety the ribbons etc, so it was very nice.

Had multiple rude encounters with the staff.

Had multiple rude encounters with the staff. They were rude to me in English and to my friend in Korean. It ruined the feeling of our whole outing. I don't care to return. My tip is to be more kind to guests.

    It was a good experience.

It was a good experience. Don't miss the marching of guard changing on 10 a.m and 2 p.m held everyday at the front gate. The whole layout of the entire palace ground was really huge, we didn't explore all of them. It was a bit disappointing that you can't really enter the building of the palace itself. You could only look around it outside of the room. It was also quite tiring cause the ground space was really huge compared to the buildings, so the time to move from one place to another is more than actually seeing the buildings themselve.

Convenience: Location (convenience store and Starbucks on street level, bus stop in few steps, restaurants around the hotel, walking distance to markets, palaces, and other attractions). Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice room with the view of Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Fantastic location near Jongno-3 station. 3 stops from Seoul station and the airport express train! Next to Insa-dong, old Korean homes converted to nice restaurants and boutiques. Also near Gyeongbokgung palace. 5 minutes walk to station, one stop from Gwangjang market. Safe area. Host is communicative, but one needs to be persistant and call if urgent. I have stayed here 4 times, and will book again!

The hotel is well located (walking distance to Namdeamun Market and Myeongdong, 25min walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace etc.) The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Starbucks and 7/11 are within a 3min walk. Would also highly recommend booking a taxi from and to the airport through the reception as most Koreans do not speak English. The driver booked through the hotel was very kind.

A very special place! Very authentic, traditional, maybe not for everyone or those looking for a luxurious getaway, but definitely something worth seeing and experiencing, to have a glimpse into traditional korean hanok living! Very kind owners. Wonderful location in a historic district, next to Gyeongbokgung palace.

I had a marvellous stay with mrs. Lee and mr. Shim! They were most welcoming and helpful. Home made breakfast was amazing. The property itself is beautiful and located in a quiet alley, but close to the subway and Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was an authentic experience, but really felt like home. Would love to come back again someday!

Location of the hotel is awesome! Metro stop in front of the building. Ikseondong is so close. Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung & Changgyeonggung from walking distance. Myeongdong and Gwangjang market are very close by with a bus. Airport limousine bus taking you very close to the hotel.

LOVED the location of this hotel because it was hidden within the quiet, narrow, winding streets of Insa-dong. Only a 10 min walk from Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung, and Bukchon Hanok Village. Room was comfortable and a good size.

I chose the hotel for two reasons; I hoped to have a view of Gyeongbokgung Palace, and it had laundry facilities in the room. The view was not as good as I would have liked, I f I looked off to the side I could see a little of the palace. The room was spacious and comfortable, almost like a one room apartment. I read comments that the hotel décor was dated; I was not bothered by it. The location was a little away from the happening areas of Seoul, and therefore not as many eating venues. I think it was the embassies area.

Pros : 1) The hostel is easy access just by walking to myeongdong market, Nandeanum market and seoul tower. A bit far from Gyeongbokgung Palace, but still reachable by walk. 2) The breakfast is sufficient with good enough food that you can eat a lot to last until evening. 3) The wifi having decent 50mbps speed in the room and in the hotel lobby. 4) The staff are friendly and good in english. Easy to discuss.
