Clean and well maintained room. Friendly staff. Close to the mosque, they gave me earplugs for a good sleep because I extended after ijen tour. Very helpful, and actually i dont mind the mosque. Featuring a garden, Ijen Backpacker is set in Banyuwangi in the East Java region, 6.1 km from Watu Dodol. Can't get any closer to both the train station and ferry terminal. Comfortable beds with privacy curtain, clean showers and toilets, good wifi, filtered water and free coffee in the morning, very friendly staff. Great value for money.

Located within 2.2 km of Bima Sakti Hall and 2.4 km of Velodrome Malang, Shelter Hostel Malang offers rooms in Malang. This is very much a backpackers hostel, so has that vibe to it. Staff was really friendl, and rooms were decent enough for a hostel and the shared bathroom was clean. Location great, many restuarant options around, and about 5 minute walk to the train station. There is a travel agency downstairs where you can book a Bromo tour.

It is basic and outside of town center, but that makes it way better than other options (you don't want to stay in Malang center). Beds are comfy and private. Included breakfast is hearty healthy and delicious. They arrange all the tours (Bromo, Sewu, etc) at great comparative rates. Best of all, the hosts are phenomenal!.. Helpful, happy, engaging, and will do whatever it takes to make your stay and experience in the area as awesome as possible. Highly recommend staying here!
