Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. Lovely countryside location. Bus connections within 10-15 min walk taking you all over Snowdonia and beyond. Views of Snowdon directly outside the window Really nice people who own and run the hostel. Whole place feels very clean!

James John Hamilton House and backpacker hostel is located in Fishguard, on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Tenby is 57 km away. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. Absolutely lovely hostel and Steve's such a nice and generous person. Flawless and yet so personal, warm and homely. Kitchen full of breakfast treats and the living room a lovely place to hangout or eat. I really felt like staying longer, but unfortunately I couldn't this time. I'll be back though - for sure!

Set in Capel-Curig, 11 km from Snowdon, The Rocks at Plas Curig Hostel offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. Very nicely decorated and well heated, clean, reception staff Dillon & Nick exceptionally welcoming ( learnt a bit of Welsh and got recommendations where to eat etc). Other guests respectful of personal space whilst being friwndly, tricky as the toilets, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and drawing room- are all shared. Very refreshing experience for someone like me whi is used to private space. The rooms have bunk beds , built in, from wood , with pleasantly designed curtains, so one can block off light and get privacy in the room share , even from one's iwn family

Situated in a converted school house, Lodge Dinorwig is located in Dinorwig, 8 km from Snowdon. Free private parking is available on site. Great communication from a friendly and responsive host. Sonni went out of her way to accomodate my (often last minute) changes of plans because of foul weather. The food was tasty, good portions and I just loved the barista coffee in the morning. The bunks are furnished with curtains, a small ledge to put your phone etc. An electric outlet was also present in the bunk. Very practical! The bathroom and showers were very clean and spacious. The common living and dining room is cosy, roomy and a nice place to meet other guests. Thank you so much for a very nice stay Sonni! I'll be back ;)

Located in Caernarfon and within 13 km of Snowdon Mountain Railway, Totters Hostel features a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. The room was very spacious and clean. Great views. The kitchen of the hostel had everything we needed. And the hostel was very quiet overall. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

Llangollen Hostel Self-catering is a 4-star, Victorian town house in the centre of Llangollen. 2nd time we’ve visited Llangollen and both times we stayed here. Location is great. Facilities are great. Price is even better. Wi-Fi worked well enough to work remotely and there is a shed for those bike touring like us. Jamie you left such a positive impression, thank you for a great stay!

Set in Merthyr Tydfil and with Cardiff University reachable within 45 km, The Butchers Arms - Grill Pub and Accommodation offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a terrace, free WiFi... This pub had the best hospitality I've ever experienced. Staff and locals were fantastic. Food was exceptional and beds were the best I've slept in for a long time. Thanks to Andrew and his daughter for the warm welcome

Situated in Fishguard, close to the Pembrokeshire Coastal path, Hamilton Lodge - Cottage sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and a secluded cottage garden with covered terrace. The lodge was delightful, cosy and a home from home. Tastefully decorated with lots of unique and quirky features. We had absolutely everything we could possibly need , including linen, towels, coffee machine, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher. The garden was so lovely. Location was perfect and near to pubs, restaurants and the sea front. Plenty of space for a family of six and a dog without being on top of each other. The host was excellent and checked we were OK right from booking to when we stayed. The complimentary gifts and treats on arrival were a lovely touch. We look forward to retuning later in the year.
