It was like a home away from home. At first we were a bit concerned about the room and bathroom size but these were not an issue as we fitted without a problem. The ‘old pub feel’ was very relaxing, it was nice to come ‘home’ after a busy day sightseeing and relax in the lounge before dinner. Our host (Sue) was amazing and her suggestions for things to do were great - as were her breakfasts! At the end of our 4 day stay she felt like a friend.

Lovely place. The attention to detail by our hosts was first class. Walking distance to all pubs and restaurants,The owners go above and beyond to make you feel at home.

We stopped here at the last moment after traveling for 24+ hours from the US. They were able to accommodate us on short notice and let us check in early - we slept 16 hours in a very comfy bed and woke up almost jet lag free the next morning to a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend the pizza for dinner! It was a perfect start to our honeymoon, and we can't wait to come back when we move to Wales in a couple years.

The location of the lodge is fantastic - super short, 10 minute walk into the Main Street of Brecon. Also it is very close to the T4 bus stop which takes you to the trail head of Pen-y-fan (at storey arms). Pete is very helpful and tries to make the stay enjoyable - he also recommended a great restaurant!!

The breakfast was delicious, There was plenty of choice of cereals, yogurt or cooked breakfast. Our room had plenty of space, the bed was comfy. The bathroom shower had plenty of hot water and the bathroom was roomy. The towels were large. Amy and Dave were very friendly and helpful.

Within easy reach of the Black Mountains and eastern Brecon Beacons. Parking outside hotel, welcoming hosts and spotless bedroom with TV/wifi, tea/coffee facilities. Our twin-room had sole use of the bathroom along the same corridor - again spotlessly clean, and lovely hot shower for tired walkers. My son and I enjoyed the quality evening meal in the restaurant, and a great night’s kip thanks to comfy mattresses and the quiet ambience. Decent continental breakfast (including boiled egg, ham/cheese slices), buffet-style to set you up for the day - you won’t leave hungry! Really well-run, modest hotel that met our needs perfectly, great value for money and would visit again. Thank you all! 🙏

Lovely, friendly staff. We stayed in a refurbished room that was cosy, modern and very clean. Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
