Situated on the slopes of Signal Hill, the family-run Maartens Guesthouse is set in Fresnaye, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It features an outdoor pool and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. The views from our rooms were spectacular. We were in rooms 1 and 3. They had upgraded one of the rooms without charge. The host (Sean) was very personable and accomodating to what we needed. Sean got up early on our departure day to ensure we got the the full breafast. It is fairly close to good dining places and the beach.

It is a Cape Town Fairytale. The view, the pool, the owners, the amazing bougainville, the view, the silence, yet the heart of the city within walking distance (if you like walking, it's an hour, hour and half to reach whatever you need and want to reach and otherwise you grab an Uber half way. Please book room number 7. You will not be disappointed. Thank me later.

Really liked the property as it felt completely like home to us! The stuff was helpful, the location was great: there is a supermarket a walking distance away, the ocean is also a walking distance away, the terrace view of the Lions’s head mountain and the ocean were awesome. The stuff cleaned our room every day. There is nothing we didn’t like, in fact when we arrived we just got a confirmation that we chose a perfect home for our vacation! ☀️ Thank you Ashby guest house and Liesl for everything 🙏🏼
