First because CocoReef Team is amazing. The team is composed with massai and local people, all so lovely. We spent really good time with Zakario, a massai, we shared our culture, we learned so much from him. He is the favourite person we met during our trip in Tanzania. He even went with us to a local festival, it was so cool. Second because the place is so nice. Really cool, spacious, clean and peacefull bungalows with a seaview. Some bushbabies were occuping the place and if you are lucky you can spot them during the night. Thirdly because the food was incredible. They served us the best breakfasts we had in Tanzania ! Lunch and dinner were also delicious ! My girlfriend and I agreed that it was the best food we had. We slept in many places in Zanzibar but our favourite place remains that one ! I really recommand it ! Moreover, it's the cheapest place we had but the best one ! Such a great deal. Thanks again David, Sandrine, Zakario, Amis, Maiko, Atibo, Tatou.. and the rest of the team ! Aya Beach is piece of heaven located in a very quite area with amazing beach and sea view. Staff are kind and attentive, food delicious and fresh. Seafood plater is amazing and must try while there. Prices are reasonable and good portion size for me, unlike the previous reviews that I have read. Facilities are well maintained and very clean. Hot shower was a dream in previous hotels and I was very happy to have this extra at Aya beach with sweet water from the tab, also rarely found in other places. Warning for the next guest on arriving. DO NOT book tours and eat the food from the street vendors we had tried the seafood grill on the beach by a local which gave us stomach ache and the tours are nothing like the other we booked with Aya beach. Don't be fooled by the prices, the quality and safety are appalling.

It is located a bit outside of the centre of Kizimkazi. By scooter, it takes you around 5 minutes to get to the main road and the main beach. The room was perfect. Every room has a little balcony or a terrace. It was superclean, the waterpressure was strong, and there was even a mini-fridge in the room. The ventilator is very fast and in gerneall the room was very well temperatured, no AC necessary at all. The wifi was stable and fast. The place has a generator, so there are no problems with powercuts. The area of Salida Beach is quite big, with a lot of trees which keep the place cool. There are some sunbeds directly at the coastline on the small cliff over the water, where you can watch the sunset or just relax. There is also a hammock. There is no sand beach, but stairs lead you down to the ocean if you want to swim, which I highly recommend, especially if it is high tide. The breakfast is out of this world. Everyone gets a big plate of fruits, then the eggs as you want them with guacamole and bread and 2 pancakes. For drinks, they had coffee, tea, and a very very good juice. There is the opportunity to have dinner at Salida Beach as well, but we did not try that. The staff was super friendly, they welcomed us, showed us the place, and were helpful with all our questions. We will definitely come again😁

The staff is lovely and helps, wherever they can. They made us (a wonderful) dinner, played us music from Tanzania (we were the only guests and they wanted to show us, what kind of music they listen to). They even offered us to organize a dolphin tour (we saw lots of them). They are still building more houses for guests, I think this is a great project to support. The pool is already finished, so no worries about that :) Breakfast was also great with lots of local fruits and juices. The dog Juma also helps to keep up the relaxed atmosphere (he's very friendly and loves scratches)

Absolutely amazing place unfortunately we only booked one night at the end of our trip but we would have loved to stay longer. Lovely location at the beach, very quiet and amazing to chill, super friendly staff and we loved the meals at the restaurant which are freshly homemade. Rooms were very clean and comfortable the whole place is decorated with love - we can recommend Mama Root totally!

Amazing location and value for money. All the surrounding places cost twice as much. The owner was super attentive and helped us find a good captain/low price to go swimming with the dolphins. It was only a 5 minute walk on the beach to get to the boats who would take us. Breakfast was lovely, the view was beautiful, the bed was comfy, overall a really lovely stay.
