CocoReef Ecolodge is the best place we had in Zanzibar. Why ? First because CocoReef Team is amazing. The team is composed with massai and local people, all so lovely. We spent really good time with Zakario, a massai, we shared our culture, we learned so much from him. He is the favourite person we met during our trip in Tanzania. He even went with us to a local festival, it was so cool. Second because the place is so nice. Really cool, spacious, clean and peacefull bungalows with a seaview. Some bushbabies were occuping the place and if you are lucky you can spot them during the night. Thirdly because the food was incredible. They served us the best breakfasts we had in Tanzania ! Lunch and dinner were also delicious ! My girlfriend and I agreed that it was the best food we had. We slept in many places in Zanzibar but our favourite place remains that one ! I really recommand it ! Moreover, it's the cheapest place we had but the best one ! Such a great deal. Thanks again David, Sandrine, Zakario, Amis, Maiko, Atibo, Tatou.. and the rest of the team ! Koliba Promised Land smještena je na južnoj obali, 1 km od naselja Kizimkazi Mtendeni, a okružena je tropskim vrtom. Ovaj je objekt okrenut prema moru. Beautiful people. Awesome service. The accommodations were very cosy. The food was delicious.

Set in Kizimkazi, a few steps from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Aya Beach Resort offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Aya Beach is a little slice of heaven! I can’t say enough about the delightful staff and how friendly and helpful they were. We accidentally took our key with us when we left - we are so sorry. Thanks for organizing a pick-up in Stone Town! The Office staff, cleaning staff and dining staff were all so kind, friendly and generous. The room we had was lovely! Spacious and cool, lots of room to sit outside and enjoy the garden. It was cleaned daily and our bed decorated! Mosquito nets weren’t even necessary - rooms are sprayed daily for bugs. The pool area is delightful and the dining room has the best view anywhere. We ate all our meals there and enjoyed everything, especially the fresh local fish. When the tide comes in the swimming is wonderful. Don’t let the hour and a half drive from town put you off, it is fascinating! Lots of little villages, people working in the fields and rice paddies, plenty to look at.

Set in Kizimkazi, less than 1 km from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Salida Beach offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We stayed one night at Salida Beach. It is located a bit outside of the centre of Kizimkazi. By scooter, it takes you around 5 minutes to get to the main road and the main beach. The room was perfect. Every room has a little balcony or a terrace. It was superclean, the waterpressure was strong, and there was even a mini-fridge in the room. The ventilator is very fast and in gerneall the room was very well temperatured, no AC necessary at all. The wifi was stable and fast. The place has a generator, so there are no problems with powercuts. The area of Salida Beach is quite big, with a lot of trees which keep the place cool. There are some sunbeds directly at the coastline on the small cliff over the water, where you can watch the sunset or just relax. There is also a hammock. There is no sand beach, but stairs lead you down to the ocean if you want to swim, which I highly recommend, especially if it is high tide. The breakfast is out of this world. Everyone gets a big plate of fruits, then the eggs as you want them with guacamole and bread and 2 pancakes. For drinks, they had coffee, tea, and a very very good juice. There is the opportunity to have dinner at Salida Beach as well, but we did not try that. The staff was super friendly, they welcomed us, showed us the place, and were helpful with all our questions. We will definitely come again😁

Set in Kizimkazi, 700 metres from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Embe Lodge offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. The staff is lovely and helps, wherever they can. They made us (a wonderful) dinner, played us music from Tanzania (we were the only guests and they wanted to show us, what kind of music they listen to). They even offered us to organize a dolphin tour (we saw lots of them). They are still building more houses for guests, I think this is a great project to support. The pool is already finished, so no worries about that :) Breakfast was also great with lots of local fruits and juices. The dog Juma also helps to keep up the relaxed atmosphere (he's very friendly and loves scratches)

Featuring a private beach area, garden and views of garden, Mama Root is located in Kizimkazi, a few steps from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach. The place has been a magic place for our stay in Zanzibar. We couldnt expect such a good vibes and relax at Mama Root. The host has been always available and friendly with the us, trying to explain the best things to do according to the season.

Boasting sea views, Tayana place offers accommodation with a private beach area, a garden and a terrace, around 200 metres from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach. Amazing location and value for money. All the surrounding places cost twice as much. The owner was super attentive and helped us find a good captain/low price to go swimming with the dolphins. It was only a 5 minute walk on the beach to get to the boats who would take us. Breakfast was lovely, the view was beautiful, the bed was comfy, overall a really lovely stay.
