“Fantastic location with fjord and mountain view from the restaurant. It’s a little but very cozy town and all you need you can get from the super friendly hosts at Saxa. We had great dinner with Gulasch soup and the fish of the day. Both were lovely. Very nice breakfast buffet in the morning with very tasty freshly baked bread. Nice and clean rooms with own bath room. Great beds! Can only recommend a stay at Saxa Guesthouse if you are visiting the south-east corner of Iceland.”

Óseyri Farmhouse is located in Stöðvarfjörður. The accommodation will provide you with a TV and a terrace.There is a full kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven.

“This farmhouse was a delightful surprpise and exceeded our expectations. It was hard to tell exactly what we were getting from the photos. The photos do not do this house justice. The farmhouse has a beautiful view of the ocean (and a beach) outside the front. The farmhouse is huge! We were five adults and had more than enough room. There is one very large bathroom and then a smaller half bathroom down the hall. There are four bedrooms and each has two twin beds. The family room is a nice size and has plenty of seating. There is a great supply of movies in English to watch. Best of all there is a washer and dryer! There is a beautuful enclosed patio in the back with a very nice hot tub. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and appliances. Our only regret is that we did not spend more time here! I highly recommend this farmhouse! Note: The only reason that I said this was not a romantic place to stay is that this farmhous is too big for just two people. It is well suited for a family or friends traveling together. I do not see it as a honeymoon accommodation, although honeymooners certainly would be very comfortable here.”

“The experience was amazing. A great host couple and the accommodation was incredible. We were staying as part of our honeymoon Route 1 trip. We received a very warm welcome and provided with an upgraded room (thank you again) and lots of information about the local areas and what to do at different times of the year. It was amazing stay and we really appreciate the hospitality the following day (we were between storms and had to re-arrange the following accommodation. We were not pressured to leave at any point. Thank you.”
