Casa da Olides - T3, hotel in Santana

Offering quiet street views, Casa da Olides - T3 is an accommodation located in Santana, 39 km from Marina do Funchal and 47 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools.

Our hostess Sandra and her mother were very welcoming, and we very much appreciated the homemade biscuits and madeira wine and fruit when we arrived and the traditional cake to take home with us. The house itself was beautifully decorated, the bedrooms in particular with their very comfortable beds, and we loved all the extra cushions, cozy blankets for the sofa and the generous supply of towels in the bathroom.

Depends on each individual expectations, this is not a noise place with nitclubs, but it is very good for relaxation, countryside but wonderful, people are going earlier to bed and is so peaceful, you can find diferit restaurant on the village with a lot of options, I highly recommend it if you like the tranquility and nature

    The hotel is very pleasant.

The hotel is very pleasant. It is good to be together with nature and with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. However, check-in took a long time, we waited 1 hour and a half for them to prepare the room, and when we got to the room, there were no pool towels, we had to ask at reception. Another situation that I didn't like was the booking of the wine tasting and visit to wine house. We were refused the wine tasting because we had already checked out at 12:00h. So we asked if we could do it before check out and they said yes, but we got there and nobody showed up.

Don't stay in Santana longer than 4 days and make sure you have a rental car to get to all the levadas easily. The restaurants/cafes in Santana are not that good/nice. The only tourist attraction in Santana are the famous Santana houses and the nearby hiking area Queimadas.

We made the mistake of not hiring a car before we got to the hotel. We figured we would see what Santana was like and then hire a car locally, this was a big mistake! Once we got to our hotel, it was clear that we would need a car to get around as nothing is close or easy to get to. We're super active people but local hikes are 30 mins just to get to. We were told it would be £630 to hire a car for 5 days. Our advice would be to hire a car ahead of your trip. Santana is beautiful and has such a variety of things to do and see. Other advice would be to not judge a book by its cover when it comes to restaurants, we ate the best stake in a tiny little restaurant that looked pretty grim from outside. You probably wont want to spend all your time in Santana but its a great base.

It is a lovely, peaceful and relaxing place.

It is a lovely, peaceful and relaxing place. I wanted time to chill, and Santana did that. Lovely scenery. Eat at the Serra e Mar Don't bother with the tourists traditional houses, there are plenty of genuine ones in the town, some very rustic

We love Santana in the winter.

We love Santana in the winter. The tourists are all in Funchal, so you have the place for yourself. Santana is ideally placed for the best hikes in Madeira: Pico Ruivo (at least 3 different hikes start here, all top-class), Queimadas with its amazing hikes and others. Also a short drive to the airport. There are some great restaurants in Santana and the adjoining villages and all the services you may need.

Hotel has a super location. There is enough parking on the property and restaurants are close by. Supermarket is 5min drive from the hotel. The grounds are amazing and from the general terrace which everyone has access to you can see the sea. The room had the perfect size and we still had enough space with 2 big luggages. The breakfast was good. We thought it would have been nice to offer some vegegable like tomatoes or slices cucumber. Otherwise there is a guest fridge where you can leave your stuff and a kitchen to prepare food.

Great apartment in quite and nice Santana. This property is huge (we had a 100m2 apartment for two people for one night, so plenty of place. View from the balcony is amazing! Bed was comfortable and overall cleanness was good. Appliances and furniture were in a great shape, so really nothing to complain about! Communication with the host was super pleasant, and also she recommended us a restaurant which was super nice (Malta Gira). Huge bonus was a washing machine! And all this is topped up with a an amazing price.

The apartment was perfect for my family 2 adults and 2 kids. We had everything we needed. The location is easy to find and the communication with the host was perfect. Having the opportunity for self check-in was very important as we arrived late in the evening. The supermarket is in the way to the apartment in Santana. Car rental is needed and parking place is available. It is situated in the middle of nature. From the location we drove between 30 min-1h:30 min to the important places of the island.

The hotel is really very beautiful. the staff is nice and helpful and smiling. The breakfast was varied and a large selection. I had dinner in the restaurant and the local fish and mussels, including Madeiran wine, were delicious. The room was luxurious with a balcony and a view of the garden and the ocean in the distance. In addition, they also have parakeets and a great talking parrot in a cage near the hotel. He was absolutely charming and not only talked but had a great laugh.

We were here for 3 nights, we arranged check-in and check-out ourselves to our full satisfaction, upon arrival you just fill out the form and send a photo of it. The apartment is fully equipped, including a washing machine, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and kitchen utensils. The location is ideal for trips to Santana and nearby levadas. Parking is directly in front of the house. Wifi without problems :) Thank you

Yes I would definitely return. It is classic Adobe type architecture, not modern glass and steel.. thank god! Excellent value and the breakfasts 10/10. It is in a very hilly section of Santana so those with mobility issues would have trouble with the stairs and walks to restaurants close by. We are 66 years old and managed quite fine. Free Parking on the street was good.

Amazing location (right in a heart of Santana) and great deal for money (you get what you pay for). You can also do your own laundry (by hand) outside at dedicated place (which is perfect if you do hiking trip). Breakfast was really sufficient and diverse (from 8am to 9am). Overall we felt comfortable (good quality mattresses) and welcomed. Highly recommended.

Santana in Nature was an excellent surprise! The staff went above and beyond to make my stay at the hotel and in the area enjoyable and comfortable. My economy room was beautiful and spacious. I was also really happy to soak in the whirlpool after long hikes. There are also several beautiful hikes accessible by foot directly from the hotel or by bus.

Very comfortable and spacious accommodation in the village part of Santana. Big living room with fire, large terrace, fully equipped kitchen, two full-sized bedrooms. Two kilometers to Santana center. Very good base for Ruivo ridge and south-east part of Madeira trips (Porto da Cruz, Machico, Canical, Ribeiro Frio are within 30 minutes by car).

we really liked the Casas de Campo. The staff were great. The breakfast was quite good and included items baked by the owner. The bed was comfy and the living area good. Santana afternoons and evenings can be cooler when the clouds come in but the heating took the edge off quickly. The kitchen was simple but adequate for meal preparation.

Nice place. Friendly personal and great location. Price quality it was fine. Nothing fancy and we didn’t expect a 5star hotel for this price. Party due to the weather and the slightly outdated rooms the building felt damp and moist. But everything was clean and well organized.
