We only stayed one night and one morning on a layover, but it was phenomenal and we are absolutely planning to return. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast of fresh bread, assorted local cheese, Portuguese jamon, juice, coffee, jams, and more -- we learned so much about the islands and Terceira in particular from our lovely hosts and got to chat with the other couple staying there. Our hosts coordinated airport transit for us and check in was very smooth even though we got in after midnight. Finally, our apartment itself was beautifully decorated and so comfortable, and the view from our room was beyond amazing. We walked 30 minutes down to a fabulous swimming spot on the coast, and then spent a few hours lying around in their enormous and lovely garden.

Just outside of Angra on the water. Quiet and peaceful after a day of white knuckle driving on the island! The owner, Maria, was absolutely lovely, as was her staff. Excellent price also. Hope to go back and stay in the spring.
