It would have been difficult to have been treated better and almost impossible to find a more relaxing location with breathtaking views. The hosts were perfect; available on the phone at any time and quick to respond to any messages. The accommodation was ideal for our needs and indeed we have taken away a good few ideas for a property we are renovating (thank you Meli). We stayed for four nights and wish it had been longer; the area is one of truly astounding natural beauty and is the perfect location to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. The village itself is very pretty and the locals equally welcoming and happy to chat. One can walk from the property to local restaurants which provide wholesome economical food and a warm welcome. We have lived in a very beautiful part of the Mediterranean Coast of Spain for over 20 years in one of the most scenic valleys imaginable, or at least we thought so until we came to sample the delights of this gorgeous village in the Cantabrian mountains with fields of freely roaming livestock all around and the backdrop of awe inspiring mountains with free flowing rivers and streams with pretty cascading falls all within pretty easy walking distance, albeit up and down hill. Parking was super simple in a private spot right beside the property, but not such that your car blocks the view. We visited the coast whilst we were there which is around 40 minutes by car through sensibly wide mountain roads (windy, but easy to drive) and also took a trip to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim (just over an hour), but it was lovely to pop to the local "supermarket" (corner shop) and buy some bits to enjoy a picnic.

Camino de la Torre - Rurualessa ligger i Quintana de Soba, 60 km från Santander. Här erbjuds en grill och utsikt över bergen. Naturparken Collados del Asón ligger 2,5 km från boendet. Nice location with own parking and entrance. Very friendly and helpful owner.

LA CABAÑA erbjuder boende i Cillorigo de Liebana, 31 km från Llanes. Som gäst har du tillgång till en privat trädgård med grillplats. WiFi är gratis. It's a comfortable apartment - not huge, but cosy. Ojedo is small, but there's a nice place just down the hill - for a drink and/or something to eat. We had a nice time staying here for 4 days. The owner us right up the street - in case you need anything.

Set in Ajo, the property is located at a fabulous distance from the beach , Posada de Ajo offers free WiFi. Utsikten och hela atmosfären. Personalen var supertrevligt. Och att inte glömma frukosten - den var bäst. Vi kommer tillbaka!

Posada El Hidalgo ligger i Valdecilla, strax utanför naturreservatet Cabárceno. Detta lanthus har en charmig veranda med utsikt över trädgården och landsbygden. Everything was wonderful 😊💞

Detta charmiga lanthus har ett pittoreskt läge, en utomhuspool och gratis Wi-Fi. Hotellet ligger i Secadura, 10 minuters bilresa från stränderna vid Kantabriens kust. This was our first stop off on a road trip through Spain and Portugal and what a great choice it proved to be. We received the warmest of welcomes, the room was lovely; clean and comfortable and the setting was simply beautiful. After a long drive, we enjoyed a pre-dinner walk along the little lanes that run up into the hills. Our charming host prepared a very nice homely dinner which we ate on the terrace. Both the room, and the meal, which included wine, were outstanding value for money. Given the price, it would be hard not to give this a ten out of ten.
